Pick up was a disaster - My debit card was not acceptable, only a credit card could be used which had not been made clear. I was stranded at a provincial airport and no effort was made to help sort out the situation. My daughter in law had to leave work and travel some 45 minutes out of her way, rent the card on her credit card, name me as an additional driver - more expense, no sympathy or penitence from Alamo. Drop off, completely different - when asked if everything had gone smoothly I mentioned the difficulties I had and the Alamo guys could not have been nicer. they were apologetic, clear, waived the additional charges and allowed me to pay with my debit card anyway. Jesse was my first contact - thank you for making it all better.

I arrived exactly at 5 pm (after spending $35 on a Lyft to get there), which is apparently when they close. I had no way of knowing they closed this early- I didn't get any forewarning at all. The guy was still there at the desk but wouldn't help me even after I told him that I didn't have anywhere to go. He said "we open at 9 am" and then walked away from me and left. Not everyone can afford the $250/night airport hotel... And I was just renting a car for that evening and the following day since my flight was at 5 pm the next day. So there was no point in paying for a rental car for half a day (especially was not going to give my business to them after he was so unhelpful...). So, I was stuck in the airport for 24 hrs because this dude couldn't start the computer back up for me.

Redundant insurance policies between kayak and the actual rental agency, don't offer the kayak one.

Pros:

Nothing - because you show up, and no one is at the desk and then you are stuck with no car. This is the 2nd time Alamo does it. Learned my lesson - NEVER RENT WITH THEM!

Cons:

If someone was actually there to give me a car, that would be a plus - so I don’t have to be in a city with NO RENTAL CAR. Showing up for work is a plus in my book guys.

Our flight was late getting in, and instead of someone staying, several of us were left stranded, and the one hotel near by was sold out. This was the worst experience. We had to pay for a 3 hr Uber since all hotels were sold out within all surrounding cities due to a Taylor Swift concert.

we showed up and got rerouted to Bellingham specifically to rent a car and drive to mercer Island (100 miles) but we got there only to be told they didn't have any cars! even with confirmation and had to take $200 Uber ride!

Pros:

We reserved an economy car, however none was available, so we were given a larger SUV with no extra charge. Very comfortable ride!

Cons:

Nothing, it was a positive experience all around. The car was nice and clean!!

Pros:

The care was in very good condition and fun to drive.

Cons:

The check-out process was a bit slow. I am beginning to realize this is standard for the entire car rental industry. It would be nice to get some more help behind the check-out counters.

I did not receive the car. They told me the reservation was cancelled one Day before pick up date. All service was terrible and nobody helped me, i had a kid a oke year old baby with me. I talked to priceline and they just told me the reservation was still open but they didnt do anything either. It was frustrating not getting any type of support from anyone. They just told me to go rent somewhere else.

The pick up at Bellingham Airport was easy and the person working the counter was delightful. We also had a very easy time going to a second Budget location along our route in Longwood, CO to add an additional driver when we had to pick up a family member last minute. The car itself was great and we are really glad we ended up with the model we got (GMC Acadia). The same cannot be said for the return in Phliadelphia. The Budget office was in the lobby of a hotel in a very busy part of town with absolutely no signage, no instructions on where to put the car, and no way to contact the office directly. To return the car we had to park the car on the street, walk around the hotel to find the office, and then go back to the car, drive down into a parking garage, call the agent, have them lift the gate to the garage, and then leave the car in the lower level of the hotel's parking garage. Without getting out of the car and wandering around, we would have had NO idea how or where to return the car. Absolute nightmare, but nothing less than I expect from Philadelphia.

What I liked: *Great deal considering the car I got and it actually made me want to rent more often when in the same situation. *Very friendly check-in. *The car itself was very nice and has me considering buying one myself now. What I didn't like: *No helpful salesman available by phone to aid in decision making; nothing but antagonistic recorded voice commanding the proper response from the customer. In other words, the exact opposite of friendly, helpful and responsive customer service. *Horrible man at counter showed up to work at 12:30 and when I came back 20 minutes later, he had "gone to get some coffee"! Just 20 minutes after showing up for work, at 12:50 he then took a 20 minute break, not coming sauntering back to the counter until 1:10, never apologized or sped up his slow walk when he saw three separate customers waiting for him to get them their cars. There would have been four of us but the second lady to show up had already left since she'd waited for over 10 minutes for the guy who was supposed to be working. *Same horrible 'employee' with his "Hey, that's how it works" and "take it or leave it" responses has no business being behind a counter.

Budget called last minute to let us know that the vehicle we had reserved for the morning was unavailable. They were unwilling to find us another rental car as we were dependent on it to get to our flight (1.5 hours away) in the morning. Their customer service was terrible, basically telling us that it was our problem and not theirs. We expected more from a trusted company :(

Friendly, helpful staff, offered but didn't try to push extras, were clear about expectations and prices. I switched to a smaller car halfway through and was able to get an EV for not much more. I loved that you have EVs for reasonable prices and look forward to renting them in the future.

When we arrived at 3pm, the associate said "We were expecting you at noon. Let's make sure we still have a car available." What? I paid in full and included my flight information on my reservation. I think the time defaulted to 12pm and I didn't know to change it. The car was there and everything was fine, but why would you say that and cause unneeded angst when travel is already so difficult.

The check out staff was very friendly. We did not see anyone when we dropped off the car.

Cons:

We probably paid too much for paying for a half tank of gas before taking car. I’m sure we didn’t use that much.

Cons:

I paid for a rental car on line with my debit card. I arrived to pickup the car only to find out that I couldn't because you don't accept debit cards. I want my money returned to my debit account. You accept credit cards only, so why accept payment via debit card?
