Friendly, good service, comfortable, good value, good 'Welsh' breakfast (i.e. no baked beans because they don't grow them in Wales . . .)
Bit close to the A40. Main hotel sign should be black-on-cream not vice versa (looks like a blackboard).
the room was lovely, spacious, clean and very comfortable
The hotel was very clean and most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had the impression of a family-run business and things ran very smoothly. There was a good choice of meals in the restaurant and the food was good and not really expensive. There was a wonderful choice of breakfasts included in the price.
I was disappointed that there was not a hair dryer in the guestroom but this may have been due to previous bad experiences on the part of the hotel. Both myself and my husband thought that the room was a bit on the expensive side for a quiet country town like Abergavenny. However, this may in part be explained by the poor rate of exchange between the pound and American dollar.
the room was huge.
the shower was very hot and I couldn't get it any colder
Great breakfast, friendly staff, big room, excellent decorative order, newly furnished
