Nothing at all. There was a safety problem and the whole stay turned into a nightmare. Host Ken, seemed really nice at first sight but after 6 days passed our stay we received an e-mail which he's blaming us about stealing his philips lamp in the room.Such a rude behaviour that shocked us.Think twice before you reserve a room he can blame you!!
Beaware of the host,Ken because he can blame you about stealing something from his house. As he did to us.Everyting was strange in that guest house, firstly he offered us other room and while we're outside he changed the room and packed our every personal equipments. When we arrived a half naked man opened my room and told us there's a misunderstanding. We were really worried because we have paid already and didn't even stayed. Now he wants his stolen lamp's cost via an e-mail. We stayed for 2 nights and paid already cash. There's no safety, the front door is unlocked during our stay. Not a proffessional place to stay. Now we're disturbed by his e-mail, we regret our stay in Amstel Guest House!Think twice before you reserve a room he can blame u
Very poor breakfast you have to prepare yourself, Bathroom including toilets very small and not convenient
The room was very large and the view of the canal perfect. Ken was a very helpful host. Everything was well set up, including breakfast and coffee. The location was also strategic, as the house is within walking distance of major tourist spots.
More of a clarification for people who might be expecting a hotel setup: this really is a guest house, with no formal reception or traditional hotel facilities.
The hotel is decorated with style in mind, the rooms are both functional and comfortable. The location is in the heart of the city and everything is within walking distance.
Nothing, a great hotel in a fantastic city.
we have spent 4 wonderful nights in this hotel, everything was exellent, esp. hospitality of MR.Ken, location of the hotel, we do reccomend it))))))
We booked expecting a room in a guest house and were stunned to find a beautifully decorated and comfortabe room overlookingt the Amstel river. In addition we also had exclusive use of the whole floor leading tou own coffee ad tea making machine and shower and changing room. Really freindly welcome by Ken. Very centrally placed close to the flower market and shopping centre.
I booked this as a treat for my Partner's 30th Birthday. We had the top floor Double Suite which was lovely - romantic, lovely decor and a stunning canal view. Ken was brilliant - he even bought my Partner a bottle of wine to celebrate his birthday! Would def recommend his b&b: both he & it totally exceeded my expectation and I would love to go back...
Our upper room was very nice. There was definitely more attention to details and desire to please guests than in formal atmosphere of chain hotels. Location of the hotel is also exellent. Thank you, Ken
It was clean, well furnished and spacious and in an excellent position in the city. The fully equipped (shared) kitchen was an addvantage.
We had mistakenly assumed that the bathroom was en suite and did not like its access from the shared kitchen. The upper apartment is en suite and, therefore, better.
The room was lovely. The location was perfect and our host, Ken, was really warm and welcoming. His attention to detail was brilliant.
