I liked that the rooms were newly renovated with clean and modern features. The renovations were still taking place but did note disturb me at all.
There was a distinct smell in the hall outside my room and I did smell it the second night while I was sleeping. I don't think it was from construction.
The wifi, and the close proximity to my session also the wonderful, friendly and helpful staff
Security level, room appearance, gym equipment was very poor there were no ice machine working on the 3rd floor
the room was VERY rundown and Not very enticing. the sink drain was backed-up and the furniture was extremely worn and well used.
The staff was very polite and the coffee was ready a few minutes ahead of schedule on the morning we left.
The room decor was very worn and pillows were very poor quality. Cleanliness was questionable. We could not tell if bed linens were actually dirty or just dingy with age. The room had no iron or blow dryer as stated. It also was supposed to be non smoking, but it smelled badly of smoke and even had an ash tray in the room. We had read the same day we were booked (otherwise we would have made other arrangements) about the surrounding area and questionable activities going on in and around the hotel and found that aspect somewhat better than expected. My husband said he could smell weed in the hallways. We ate at the Ruby Tuesday next to the hotel and saw some activity that made us use caution. A police officer was on duty at the entrance while we ate. I noticed a couple of guys roaming around the tables with what seemed to be no purpose. One who was on a phone the whole time went to an empty table and picked up a rolled napkin from a chair and returned to his table with it. It seems like they may be trying to make the area feel safer for people traveling through the airport. The room also had cigarette burns on the furnishings and bathroom fixtures. We were supposed to stay there another night on our return flight from our vacation, but we cancelled due to the smell and general discomfort. For about $20 more you can get a clean comfortable room with a continental breakfast included at Quality Inn Atlanta Airport South. The rooms there were truly non smoking and included in room coffee, fridge, microwave, dryer, iron, flat screen TV and very comfortable bedding. We are not picky people and like to save money, but we did not rest well at all at Motel 6. I think for many people spending a little more is well worth it.
price and proximity to the airport
very dirty a
Easy access to airport... Comfortable bed
Smell in the hall . Carpets should be updated . Towels need to be thicker . Stains on walls.
I can't really say that there was anything that I liked about the Motel 6 at Atlanta North. You truly get what you pay for...
The place was about as run down as they get. Super thin walls, the place reeked of cigarette smoke, the bathrooms in the rooms were grotesque, there was what appeard to be blood on the handlebar adjacent to the toilet. The towels were so sandpaper-like I felt like I was rubbing my skin raw and not drying off. I will never stay here again, and I recommend the same to any other unsuspecting travelers to the Atlanta area.
Low cost room near the airport
Smoke free room still smelled like smoke, bathroom shower had lots of damage and shoddy repairs, room showed significant wear and tear as well as stained carpets in hallways. Check in after midnight was incredibly slow despite 2 workers being present. A dirt cheap rate for poor quality in appearance and service.
I the location near the airport.
Looks dirty and all the building stink like tabaco .
Quick check in
Definitely not a luxury stay!
The staff was very courteous and efficient. The swimming pool was very nice. Several restaurants in easy walking distance, including several chains and a great family owned place in business for 35 years. The shuttle to the airport/MARTA station was reliable and easy. One warning - when we initially arrived at the ground transportation center and had waited over 40 minutes for the twice-an-hour shuttle, we called the hotel only to find that we should have been looking for a Holiday Inn van with a Motel Six cardboard sign in the windshield - so I recommend checking directly with the hotel upon your arrival at ATL so you know exactly what you need to be watching for. Later shuttles did have the Motel Six sign/logo on the side.
The pillows and bedspreads were quite low quality. The 'auto' setting on the a/c did not seem to work - the a/c wouldn't shut off unless you turned it all the way off..
The staff members were great!
The rooms were poor, we didn't get enough towels and wash cloths, they really new to upgrade everything in their rooms, and truth be told the money was not worth our stay! Truly $19.99 per night would be to much for this place! Thank God for the nice and friendly staff there!!!
April at the desk was great! Very helpful very professional.
Hotel is old and dirty. There is a smell on the guest room floors and in the rooms. The facility needs a complete renovation. Give the great staff you have a hotel to be proud to work in please!
it was convenient to the airport
the place was very run down and unattended to...for example the elevator had spilled beer in it when I arrived and it was still like that the next morning. My door lock was busted like someone had previously smashed in the door, the smoke alarm was hanging on only by the wires, and the shower gave only a trickle of water which was warm at best.
Very close to the airport. Ruby Tuesday next door as well as another similar restaurant. Very basic room, not a place you'd stay for more than a night or two. Good place to stay if you need to get to the airport early the next morning. They have a multi-hotel shuttle that runs at all hours in the area.
The area and clientele are pretty sketchy. We heard people shouting down the hallways and banging on doors at 3AM. My daughter was afraid to leave the room after arriving at 6PM because of the people hanging around the lobby and outside the main entrance. On the plus side, there was a police car in the parking lot all night, so I guess they've either had issues in the past or they're acknowledging that there may be issues. No shampoo or other amenities in the room, not even a garbage can except the tiny one in the bathroom.
Not real clean. Older facility . Needs updated
