Our handler, Mona Lisa, at the Antigua airport Avis was knowledgeable, easy to work with and helpful. Both the pick up and drop off process was made easy. Thank you!

This was the worst rental experience we ever had - anywhere. The car was dented, scratched up, dirty had basically no shocks. The key fob didn’t work and A/C barely worked. It was good I took photos of the damage on the car because the person who we returned it to didn’t have the pre-loan damage info. He was asking if I was sure all the damage was already on the car. I also didn’t get any receipt or paperwork when we turned it in. I think we’re due some sort of refund on this clunker, but wouldn’t expect to get very far on that request. My advice: avoid Avis.

The convenience of picking up the car at the airport was great.

Cons:

Booked a premium 7 seater SUV and received a regular 5 seater. I was told that they don't offer any premium SUVs and was asked to pay more for a 7 seat minivan.

Staff were friendly. Although a new airport there is no signage to car hire. The opening hours were 10-4 on internet, 10-5 verbally, but they seem to have some flexibility for returns. If your flight is late who knows? The car was old, very high mileage, in poor condition, gutless and not what I would expect from this company.

I had a horrible experience. The cars were falling apart. The roads in the area we rented are rough and I understand that its not cost effective to invest an abundance of money on the vehicles to be destroyed. I am also keeping in mind that the resources of where I visited are limited, but if you're going to rent out cars for others to drive there is a certain level of care you need to take for safety, at absolute minimun. We were refunded a portion of our money, but I will never use Budget again.

The car was old and banged up. The rubber in the trunk was loose and out of the groove and we had difficulty closing it. The rubber was also out in the back door and leaked when it rained. The attendant told us she would call on the weekend to get us newer vehicle but she never called. When we called on the weekend no one answered. The air conditioning was not up to par and the car had no power. The tint was warped and we and trouble seeing through the side glass. All in all terrible and my husband said he wouldn't rent from Hertz again!
