Located in the heart of the Catalan capital, in the Gothic district, is a fully equipped and elegant hotel. Just a 2-minute walk from Barcelona Cathedral, it has all the services that you need for a perfect stay.
Is next to Barcelona Cathedral and right in the heart of the Gothic district. It is excellently communicated by public transport: very close to Las Ramblas, just 50 yards from the Jaume I metro station and surrounded by many bus stops that will help you get to the main landmarks in the city with ease and quickly.
Near all the most important landmarks in Barcelona, Hotel Gótico Barcelona has 81 elegant and soundproof rooms with air-conditioning and flat-screen satellite TV.
This spacious room has the same characteristics as the single and double rooms. It has a double bed and an extra bed (sofa bed or folding bed) for a third person.
All the rooms have air-conditioning, heating, tiled floors, desk and a large en-suite bathroom complete with amenities and hairdryer.
The décor, location, price, staff, breakfast., rooms with balcony and street view. Special mention to two of your front desk staff: Javier Martinez and Freyker Rosario, both excellent at their jobs, very professional, great attitude and disposition. Simply wonderful individuals, results oriented with a great smile.
Room 307 - Phone did not work and did not get morning call. Then it took the front desk staff for ever to get a replacement. Then on Monday the 9th the front desk person forgot to wake me up because 'he was too busy and forgot' even though request was made the night before and it was written on the wake up calls listing. It ruined two half day trips I had planned for the day; had to cancel them. Bed matrass was too hard and made it uncomfortable to sleep.. The rooms with balcony and street view was fine but the other ones with interior view were too dark and depressing.
Location is in the middle of the gothic area which makes it easy to get around.
Windows are thin and we got no sleep. People were out on the street all night and the walls were so thin it was like they were in the room with us. The amenities were minimal and the beds were uncomfortable and it looked like the comforters were rarely washed and changed.
it was situated in the barrio gotico
it is quite old
Central location in bcn old town
Room with a 30x20 cm window... no internet available. definitely not a 4 star.
Very small rooms with nearly no light. If you have a room to the back yard then complain straight away. The back of the hotel is also shared with a local pet shop which sells dogs. The noise from the dogs starts everyday at 06.00 am until the shop opens. Dont open the window or the balcony door, the dog smell is unbelievable. I wouldnt only recommend this hotel for its location:(
The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to access museums and other tourist sites. This includes access to world class restaurants.
excellent location, pleasent stuff. good value for money
there was some noise from the street.
The fact that the Hotel was in a central location. would only recommend for the location. Got at a special rate, if I had paid full price I would have been very disappointed.
The Hotel was more basic than I thought, I did not like the fact that there were no bar facilities in the Gotico and no hotel service to the room.
the people at the reception
as mentioned above, please read
Mainly the location. Rooms don't look recently renovated (furniture, bed covers, etc.) The staff is kind, but they don't solve problems quickly; probably they need the approval from higher managment to change someone's room.
I was assigned to a room (# 318) in which the air condit. was too noisy, it wouldn't let me sleep. Actually, it was a mechanical noise, vibration through the shaft, that remained even when we turned the a/c off. It took hours and talking to several managers for them to acknowledge the problem and chage me to another room (#319) which was fair to good.
breakfast was poor- 2nd day we went out for breakfast
The location is good.
This is not a complaint: The hotel really did not come over 4 star hotel! The room was tiny, was not well cleaned, did not have internet, and had no real window. The existing 'window' went out into a ventilation shaft (?) where all airconditionings of the other rooms seemed to come out in. As a result there was such a high noise level that a good amenity would have been earplugs. The minibar was locked and needed extra keys to be gotten from reception.
