I was in a non-smoking room with smoking rooms across the hall. The hall way was strong with smoke, I cringed each time I had to open the door. If my stay had been longer I would have requested another room. The balcony was dirty with what appeared to be mold on the sliding glass door. Smokers should be on a floor for smokers only
Went to Beaumont for a show at the Julie Rodgers Theater. Reserved based on the hotel website and the reviews there. Check in was smooth and the staff we had contact with were pleasant to deal with. The good part ends there. We were there September 21 and the outside temp was about 88F. Interior public areas were hot and damp. I cannot quote my wife's comment on the smell in the elevator but let me say it involved references to unwashed body parts, sweat and male workout clothing the has been in a gym bag for too long after being used. The smell of rot and mildew was pervasive. The room was a king suite. The carpet and furniture appeared to have been updated in the last few years. Unfortunately they left all the original mildew in place when they updated. The old school through the wall A/C units blow up under the heavy drapes and blow the cool air on the exterior walls, making the walls sweat. This is the perfect place for mildew to grow and it sure does. The green slime on the wall set the tone for the whole experience. If we did not have only an hour before the limo was going to arrive to take us to the show I would have checked out and gone up the street. Shaving was fun. I set the sink faucet to hot and waited... And waited.. And waited... I finally concluded that there was no hot water so I shaved with cold... About that time my wife complained about her cold shower. Next morning while trying to get a cold glass of water I figured out that all the faucets had been installed backwards, hot on the cold side, etc. So when we got ready to leave the room for the show I discovered that there was no safe in the room. Come on. It is 2012. What hotel does not have a safe in the room in 2012? So I call the front desk and they say they have safety deposit boxes at the front desk. So on the way out we stop at the front desk with our stuff. The clerk has to try about 6 boxes before she finds one that will open with her master key. SO she opens the door and takes out a ...
When traveling to Beaumont for business, the MGM Elegante has become my preferred hotel. I tend to look for value and convenience and while its sits between two other practical hotels, I like the amenities. It features a spa, bar as well as free internet. But to point out one drawback, I wish the mattresses were more plush. Overall its a good value since the price difference of a Fairfield is little to none.
This is a nice hotel for the price. The restaurants and Starbucks are definitely the best feature. The rooms are not as nice as I remember and we have stayed in the hotel every year for about 4 years now.
The clerk that checked me in was very courteous and helpful. The check in process was professional, quick, and painless for this weary traveller. The room was comfortable, the restaurant was superior, and I will return soon for another pleasant visit!
I just want to say that the Management and staff there at the Hotel was awesome at making our New Year experience remarkable! There were people from out of town, out of state, and local that were in our party. The Hotel assisted everyone one by one premium service and sincere care assistance. One of our party members was unable to financially reserve room and they held room for her until to arrived at hotel for payment. This made her trip possible and really meant alot that they did that for her. We also dominated the shuttle, Miss ABC was a trooper thru all the trips taking us to and picking us up from our Downtown celebration that night! Along with all the great service, the Hotel and the rooms were just beautiful. The outside of this hotel does not serve justice to how beautiful it is on the inside! The price is awesome for the 5 star environment and service that you will receive!!! Thanks again! Will definitely be back! ABC
I was charged a daily fee to have a microwave in my room, which I did not realize until I checked out. I needed assistance with using the fax machine in the business room, the employees at the front desk explained to me that they could not help me because they stated that they did not know how to operate either. I had to leave and go to Kinko's The meeting room lighting was very poor. It made it very difficult to study and test. I stayed from June 14-20.
The room was nice, the bed was nice...but the bath tub was really dirty and there was lots of hair on the toliet seat when I arrived, IT WAS DISGUSTING!
Have to be in Beaumont very often on business and have tried many other name hotels. This is the best for the cost. All the services you need. Very nice pool area. Great bar. Starbucks outlet. Great beds in the rooms. Staff are all very accommodating.
Went to a high school reunion and decided to get a hotel room so we didn't have to drive under the influence 45 mins back home. When I booked the room I was told that I could call the hotel and have the shuttle pick me up at 2am from a popular local bar. Told at check-in that the shuttle stopped at 11pm and I would have to pay for a taxi. Hotel gave me two wrong numbers for the taxi, wouldn't help me find one to pick us up at 2am and long story short ended up getting picked up at 3am from downtown which is not a nice place to be at night. The room was supposedly 'non-smoking', but reaked of smoke and cheap air freshener and comforter had cigarrette burn. Air conditioner had leaked and left the carpet soaked around the patio door. Bathroom had hair in sink and on toilet. Left a message at the front desk for the manager to call me Monday morning to discuss our stay and haven't received a call yet.
The service in the restaurants is terrible and the food is mediocre. Eat elsewhere.
I stayed a rainy week in October. The bed, sheets & pillows were great. Room service was good. Eggs are cooked to order at the complimentary breakfast. Much better than I expected in Beaumont.
