Cons:Where to start. Staff couldn't be bothered to stop eating and watching shows on their phone at the front desk to check us in. Room number was written on a torn corner of a paper and taped to the card, no wifi information provided. No working AC in any common areas. The elevator would move while doors still open while hot air blasted in the metal shell. First room smelled like someone washed the walls and room in fragrance, and if I didn't know better I would say it was to cover a mold smell. This was on the third floor so it shouldn't have mold. Curtains in the room were moldy though. The room was hot (around 84 in a Texas coastal city), so the wife and I set it to 60 and went out for dinner. When we came back over an hour later it was still at 84. Told the evening staff and got moved into a second floor room that cooled slightly better but never got cold (74 was the coldest it got). Go to take a shower to cool off and no cold water. That isn't a typo. The water literally was smoking hot out of the pipe no matter what setting it was on. At this point it is almost midnight and I'm tired after driving all day from OKC. Decide to go to bed. When I wake up and go to pee, I see roaches climbing the bathroom wall. It's a Texas summer so I understand bugs come inside, but still gross to see crawling on the toilet paper. I'm in town for a funeral so we go and when we come back the temp still hasn't cooled and the shower still sucks. While the wife was changing she dropped a ring by the headboard. When she bent down to pick it up, she found apple cores, used condoms, condom wrappers, and other rotted food under the bed. I have stayed at this hotel previously with no problems prior to Hurricane Harvey, but I will never stay at this chain again. For reference I travel a lot for work and have stayed for months in hotels, I would quit my job if they asked me to stay at this hotel. The only reason I didn't inform the staff prior to leaving was the poor attitude displayed at check in and when we switched rooms and being in mourning I was already in a pretty raw state of mind.
Pros:The staff was very friendly and the suite I booked was well stocked with dishes and the layout was nice. Enjoyed the standup shower with the ceiling shower head.
Cons:Cigarette burns in the sheets and blankets, faint smell of cigarette smoke in the room. The fire alarm was covered by a small towel so I am assuming the previous guest did that to smoke. Whomever "cleaned" the room obviously didn't bother to take a look around. The ceiling paint was falling off in one spot. The hotel WiFi is AWFUL. Forget about watching Netflix during your stay here.

Cons:The room only had one trash can which was in the bathroom, pillows were worn out , bed padding had stains, duvet was very thin, also saw front desk clerk washing the actual room bedding sheets in the guest laundry room that should is a health violation.
