Here's a copy of the e-mail I sent the hotel. Dear Ms. Allen Guest Care Manager My wife and I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot Portland Beaverton March 22-26. During this time we had occasion to use the concierge service several times, mostly for directions and for help in checking in to our return flight. I would like to commend you and especially your staff for the courtesy, competency and knowledge they demonstrated in helping us. They made a our stay in the Portland area significantly more pleasant and easier than it otherwise would have been. I dealt with several different people - sorry, I didn't think at the time to note their names so this could be a little more personal. Please thank them on my behalf.
We would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was going through a remodeling (which it needed). The excersice room was alright, some of the machines didn't work but I'm guessing they were in the process of getting new ones. The sauna and steam room were a nice bonus. It was centrally located to where we needed to be. The only complaint was the bed was just average and I had to go buy a pillow because they only had flat stiff ones.
The Staff is always great when staying at a Courtyard Hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. This location seems to be in a business disctrict, with shopping near by. There was a Target and a mall, a Denny's all a short drive away. Some complained about highway noise, but I slept fine. Do not go to the hair salon near by, that place is not a place to plan a weekend of pampering, hair styling or anything else. The Marriott Courtyard was dependable as usual offering friendly staff and a clean, comfortable environment. Their hotel breakfast is always good.
We stayed at the Hotel to prevent congestion at my daughters house. We loved our room, the Courtyard was beautiful, even in November. I would stay again. Beds confortable. Next time, we hope to enjoy the pool and spa. People at check-in were great. Definitely a great deal.
Good Location, near a mall, shopping and food and close to 217. Quite, safe, business district. Minus the train that came thru a couple of times a day. But even that was not so bad. Great breakfast buffet, friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms. No Speed Channel though, lol. There is not much of a view of anything here, but that is not what I was looking for however, just thought I would mention that in case you are looking for a view.
Everything about our stay in the hotel was fine, however, the weekend that we stayed they were having the A/C systems in each room serviced and wouldn't provide a schedule of when to expect the maintenance guys in our room. They knocked at 10am when we were to check out by noon that day and expected to come in. I told them to come back in two hours after we checked out, we were showering and getting ready while packing our things, and they were very rude about it. When I went to load the car, I walked down the hall and every other door was held open!!!! Even if I hadn't been in my room, I wouldn't have wanted my room door propped open leaving anyone access to the room. With no safe in the room, I would not have been happy if my belongings had been left available for anyone to help themselves to. Also, when asking the girls at the check-in desk about some ideas of what to do, they had no opinions or suggestions. Kinda frusterating
We were impressed immediately by the clean, spacious room and the little balcony (nice for some fresh air) -- all for a very reasonable price. We stayed just one night, so we didn't get a chance to check out the pool and other services, but the staff were very friendly. Only negative was the train which went by a few times during the evening with a loud horn. We didn't hear the horn during the night, though. If you want to guarantee quiet, ask for a room on the other side of the hotel. Overall, a very comfortable place to stay.
We stayed for 4 nights and the staff was amazing. The room was lovely and our housekeeper 'Maria' did an excellent job of keeping the room well stocked and clean. We always stay at Marriott when we vacation in Oregon and the experience has always been great. This is a beautiful Marriott with plenty of amenities and wonderful service.
We were very happy with everything here. Beds so comfortable we went home and bought a new bed for ourselves! Staff very friendly and helpful, very clean and quiet. I would absolutely stay here again. Also the workout room was good.
I stay at this hotel whenever I come up to Beaverton for Business - usually once a month. I have tried other hotels in the area and always come back to the Courtyard. Besides the convenient location, the rooms are always very nice, clean (no moldy smells like some others), and very well taken care of. Most of all, the bed is very comfortable and unlike other hotels the Marriott upgrades the sheets and gives you plenty of extra pillows! Besides the Starbucks, Noah's Bagels and Panda Express are all right next door!
Four people from my office stayed at this hotel for one night. The staff was pleasent and the rooms/hotel was clean. The pool/spa was out of commission. The bed was comfy with great pillows. The main issue with this hotel is the location to the train tracks. We all were waken by a very loud train passing through with horns blarring at 2am. Another train passed by later that morning a little before 6am. The breakfast at the dining area was a standard continental fair. It was good that our meals were compted since we would not have paid the normal $10.00 for this meal. The business center was nice and we were able to print our bording passes before leaving. We will most likely not stay here again.
