We chose this hotel based on its proximity to the train station. It is a large facility with 20+ floors and good views over the city.
Very disappointed we were not able to have dinner in the top of the facility because it's closed on Sunday. The entrance to the hotel was uninviting - dirty, stained concrete, looks across at another large building, very little greenery or flowers in a country that usually has spectacular displays. The only dining facility open during our stay was the bar - open to the lobby. It carpet was soiled and stained. The huge breakfast buffet included many items and for the entire time we were there it was swarming with people. Tables were not cleared for 20-30 minutes, it was difficult to find a staff person to bring coffee. Most of the food looked mediocre or tired. Really. Expected more from Radisson. My husband insists we go back to Hiltons.
The room was very clean and the location could not have been better. Able to see the city of Bergen by foot from this hotel.
A bit warm at night in the room as air conditioner was not all that effective
The best choice of dished on breakfast.
It was not so pleasant to find out that there's no booking for all 3 rooms and after that we have opportunity to estimate the "smoking rooms" in spite of no smoking had been reserved yet. Never try to stay in "smoking rooms".
The location is great. The staff in general was very nice
1)the swimming pool doen't look veryappealing. 2) the hotel looks very classy on the website but not very much in reality 3) bread crumbs on the dark carpet in the breakfast launge makes the place look very dirty
Staff was very helpful, friendly and pleasant. Breakfast is very good. The location of the hotel near the harbour and the (old) centre is all within walking distance, thus very good for us with a young child. Public transport and restaurants are also close to the hotel.
This hotel would benefit from an extensive refurbishment. Bathroom was quite small. In general, this hotel is definitely suitable for a few days (city trip).
Everything, excellent breakfast.
Seems OK to me - I did have little time to sample anything special coming in late and leaving early, so here are some points: A. Ok room B. Quiet - slept well. C- Nice breakfast D.Good parking. E- Nice staff
Julie. There was one fantastic clerk who, being so terrific, made up for a lot of hotel mistakes. She called around town to help me book a New Year's Eve celebration, and helped me arrange to have mail delivered. She was among the best hotel representatives I've ever encountered.
The hotel messed up the reservation. They had me listed as one night instead of two and so did not make up my room. They gave me a bit of a run-around canceling my room key also and overcharged me. When I called they corrected the charge. It is still a great hotel... largely because of Julie, but on the whole the staff was quite personable and caring.
Great location and nice and warm. Great choice at breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful
Looks a bit dated now and need a refurb as I stayed her in 2001 and it was still looking smart then
dirty under the beds:
Coming with small kits, we have immediately received an upgrade to a superior room - bigger and more spacious; excellent breakfast with lots of choice of health food; superbe location in downtown Bergen - everything can be reached by foot
