The only plus side is the lovely woman on reception, she was very friendly and helpful
It is not hotel standard. Dirty, dated and totally unacceptable to charge anything over 30 pound
Secure parking in a locked compound and only a short bus ride from birmingham town center, staff friendly and helpfull.
Thermostatic valve on radiator broken so heating on full all night ,no plug for sink ,Breakfast would be far better if they served an omlett instead of two poorly cooked flatened fried eggs,if we stay their again we will ask at reception if this is a possibility
It is less than a 5 min walk from trainstation and only one stop from citycenter. It cost £1.70 return and trains are every 15min, so is worth staying away from the city center if you just staying for one night. You have your own toilet, shower, ect and the front door will be opened by staff 24hrs for you.
They must of changed the bedding since other reviews as there was no plastic sheeting on our bed. We had a double bed a walldrobe a big comfortable chair, kettle and tea bags, a bed side table and our own toilet, sink and shower. There was a dent in wall that looked like some drunken bloke had knocked his head on wall why trying to piss. The pipes could do with a paint, but it was 3 star after all not buckingham palace.Worth the money.
very good shower
plastic sheet on bed
Security for car. Price.
Very basic accommodation. Tea in room only - no coffee. No hairdryer. No mirror in main room. Bathroom - no bath as advertised - shower only. Not finished, no tiled splashback, exposed copper pipes everywhere. One towel only. Toilet did not flush properly. Did not accept credit/bank cards - 'machine out of order' - cash only - no receipt book but a handwritten receipt reluctantly written on original booking by a member of staff with little command of the English language.
yes couldnt lock bedroom door. the handles off the window was on the floor outside.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Upon arrival I was asked when I wanted breakfast. 8 am, I said . Imagine my surprise when the following morning the manager banged on my door at 7.55 shouting "breakfast, breakfast". I answered that I be there soon. This ritual was then repeated every 5 minutes until I showed up for breakfast. It was a bit like being at camp rather than in a hotel.
most of the staff need under stand and speak better english and needs to persent and serve better breakfast and the nosie from the water system was bad and the pitcure on the tv was so bad we couldnt watch it.
The car park was locked and secure, and the shower was very powerful and hot. The room itself was better than expected.
The hotel is based in an industrial/residential area. We were told by a taxi driver that it used to be a club, which would make sense of the layout and fire door entrance/reception. For £35 a night we couldn't really complain and it is a good place to stop at if your going clubbing, but definitely a far cry from a romantic getaway! Make sure you take the address of the hotel out with you, as our taxi didn't have a clue where it was. Also, the ceiling is a fire hazard.
