Pick up and drop off was painless and easy. The Alamo counter is shared with National and Enterprise. Everybody was friendly and helpful.Cons:

We did get an upgraded vehicle because there was no vehicle that we requested availableCons:
The vehicle outside had been keyed heavily. No one from the staff came out to inspect the vehicle with us. This was a Dodge Caravan and literally, the passenger side sliding door came off the track and was not able to close completely. The wind noise from the door not closing was ridiculous.10.0 Wonderful

Online booking through Kayak was easy and affordable. Check out and check in were simple and efficient.Cons:
The vehicle had that specific aroma of one that had been smoked in. The company had probably paid a big fee to have cleaning done but the residual odor is still there, especially picked up by non-smokers. Sorry Avis, send it though the treatment another time.4.8 Mediocre

Counter has only one person at drop off and no one in the return lot. That one counter person was overwhelmed with people wanting to rent and return cars - not their fault.Cons:

The car could have been started and warmed up. We flew into an ice storm and had to wait in a cold car for 20 minutes before the ice could be scraped off the windows. Besides that, all was well!2.0 Poor

Cons:
I was given a upgrade that was a Chevy Tahoe rather than a midsize SUV. But that Tahoe had a leaky tire with three plugs in it and I had to keep pulling over and refilling the tire on on a long drive. Also they gave me a car that did not have the left rear turn signal working. Then when I went to turn the car in they said that I had change the car and they charge me $2000 instead of the 299 a week. I’m very disappointed. I will not be using national car rental again.10.0 Wonderful

The van was nice.Cons:
We had a medical issue on our trip so was a half day late returning the van. Instead of adding another of our daily rates they charged me 4 times that amount stating the rates went up then a bunch of fees and taxes.8.0 Very good
