I especially enjoyed the well-kept common spaces with pool and hot tub, and the massage (and yoga) services offered on site. The restaurant had wonderful vegan items and there was a good selection on the continental breakfast.
The room's appearance was dated with double instead of queen beds and an older TV. The continental breakfast was awkwardly laid out around the dark bar which made it seem gloomy and disorganized. None of this affected the good quality, though. This is a great, refurbished, retro-hotel and was a wonderful surprise at the end of a long, exhausting day. I would recommend it to anyone staying in or traveling through Boulder. I especially appreciated vegan items on the restaurant's menu and the on-site spa services which are something usually not found in 2 & 3 star hotels. The hotel staff went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and were extremely friendly. It's on a frontage road, so you have to stay on your to find ...
The hotel was good.
One thing that would need improvement is outside lighting as it is poor.
clean and staff was nice, helpful and had good energy.
no elevator to get my luggage up to my floor. my luggage was heavy. also my room door was facing outside. not in main part of hotel.
Everything...the beautiful people of the Outlook upgraded us to a more quiet room, gave my kids access to the pool on Halloween night, and even politely told me to smoke in the proper area which was a very nice table with ashtray and a beautiful view.
My only minimal criticism was the datedness of the room but for that price who cares. If you are on a budget and need a place to stay in Boulder look no further than the Outlook. Beautiful atrium with pool, hot tub and climbing rocks (only in Boulder) awaits your arrival. The place is very clean and the rooms are well appointed. The people that work/run the Outlook are amazing and service minded to make sure that your stay is the best it can be while in Boulder. My kids and I had a great time and quite frankly didn't want to leave. The breakfast was an incredible value and I even got my kids (as well as me) to eat granola and waffles with the normal fare of hard boiled eggs, great coffee and cereal...
It was close to campus.
no elevator.I would definetly go back to this hotel! Tom Hogle
The location and the staff are the only positive things I could honestly say about the hotel.
It was so ungodly FILTHY. Hands down the most vile room I have ever stayed in. I travel often, and stay and different star-levels, and this was the scariest room I have ever seen.I wouldn't recommend this to ANYONE. It was scary filthy from the floor to the bathroom to the bed. The continental breakfast was TERRIFYING due to the filth around where it was served (nice offerings but wouldn't touch them, the plates/containers/serving utensils were all dirty). The staff was nice and very helpful. But the hotel clearly does not have a standard for cleanliness. If I hadn't pre-paid I would have been out of there in a FLASH. I almost slept in the car.
The hotel is one of a kind, a refreshing change from hotels that all look and feel alike. Though it is older, it is well-maintained and clean. The continental breakfast is better than most. The Outlook is close to downtown Boulder. Its convenience is a big plus. It is unique in character. Everything was clean, and it worked. There is an emphasis on ecological conscience that I admired.
The room we were given initially was exposed to high levels of corridor and pool noise. The room was clean but in need of a refurb. I raised the noise issue as being excessive and the duty manager immediately upgraded us to the exec suite. Excellent.
Pptential guests need to appreciate this hotel has a college dorm type feel and characterIf you get a well located room, the location makes this a good hotel to stay in
Nothing, this place is a dump. The rooms were old and musty and smelled like cigarettes. The pool area was humid and smelled like chlorine. Word of caution...stay away from this place unless you want to go back to the 60's.I decided to tough it out and stay there since I was by myself. If my wife was with me I would have eaten the money and gone to another Hotel.
character, location, price
items stolen from my room. parking is difficult.Good location, pleasant staff. Kind of on the rundown side, but then as expected for the price. The fitness room was minimally equipped.
