I had a sense of uncertainty when I saw that the front desk clerk was working behind bullet-proof glass. When I went to my room, I took one look around, and immediately went back to the front desk to ask if there was another room. I was given another key, but the second room was barely any better. This is the kind of hotel that horror movies resemble. It was truly filthy, old and depressing - despite being billed as a 'new hotel'. I knew that I would be unable to fall asleep for fear of roaches or rats coming out in the dark, so I asked for my $* to be refunded, which the clerk claimed he was unable to do. He was, however, able to provide me with a phone book, so I quickly called a 'brand-name' hotel next door, and booked a room for twice the price, but at least it was clean, relatively comfortable and safe. Unless you are accustomed to living on the streets in a cardboard box, there is no one, in my opinion, that could possibly think well of the JFK Inn. Do Not Go There.
