The hallway smelled and then my room was really bad....smelled like smoke and body odor. I was only staying for less than 12 hours, so I did not ask to change but it was pretty disgusting.
We were given an upgrade on our room. Very nice surprise, room was very comfortable.
Morning buffet could offer a few other items fruit, oat meal would be nice.
The hotel staff was quite helpful and remarkably polite despite being faced with an irritable, dirty soldier ( me) who'd just driven 20+ miles out of his way through some truly awful road construction, despite it being about 1 am. The young lady at the desk went out of her way to make things right after the booking site screwed up and booked me for this hotel instead of the one in Bayshore and the Bayshore hotel refused to help me out. ( The Bayshore hotel flat-out told me that they'd charge me an extra $30 to have my reservation switched. ) She also asked when I would be leaving and made sure there was a cup of coffee waiting for me at the desk on my way out the door in the morning because it was before they started serving breakfast. Overall, the hotel was dated and needed some repair work, but the staff made up for it as best they could with service.
It's WAY off the beaten path if you're looking for a place to stay near Milwaukee. If you're looking for something in Waukesha county near the Waukesha/Pewaukee/Brookfield area, it's fine. But I wouldn't advocate staying here if you've got business in the city. The area around the hotel and the hotel itself is a bit run-down and aged if well-kept. It's not dangerous or dirty, just old and unattractive. If that's not an issue to you then it's not a bad hotel for the price.
The beds and pillows were comfortable.the rooms were adequate
Couldn't sleep with the the two dogs barking in the next room till 1 am and then again early in the morning around 7.!! Morning buffet was less than desirable! Whrre was the advertised fruit? No fruit at all! Too many surgery carbohydrates options and no healthy alternatives. No oatmeal packets How can you be out of salt. Who eats an egg without salt? No cups for juice except coffe cups Bath tub had scum in it. Bathroom floor had pubic hair. Hand towel was evidently used and dirty
It was fine. Room was dated but clean.
Better hotels in the area for business travel. Only rooms in local area available were at this La Quinta, but there's a reason for that. Hotel is dated, rooms even moreso. Abandoned shopping center in the parking lot, and their own lot needs to be resurfaced and parking lines repainted. Hotel's laundry facility (for their linens/towels) on first floor was visible and in use - not something guests want to see. Carpets in room look old, no plug on nightstand, two double beds (no king), TV placed on low shelf, something that appeared to be mold on bathroom ceiling above shower, and noise levels are rather high from neighboring rooms, hallway, and room above. I wouldn't recommend it.
