The location was great, John (the front desk guy) was very friendly, and the room was very big!!! Its worth the price. At first glance the exterior doesn't show how big the Inn really is. We were greeted by John at the front desk. He was very friendly and even offered to bring our bags upstairs to our room (all the way to the 3rd floor). We had a double room which was very LARGE and accomodating. Something else that we appreciated was the daily continental breakfast, 8am-10am. Bagels, danishes, cereal, coffee, tea, juice and more. It was well worth the xxx per night that we paid.
It had a nice historic charm to it.
It was incredibly hot in our room, the internet did not work, and the cable was spotty. The bathroom also smelled distinctly like urine when the shower was on.
I decided to leave after the first night (leaving immediately the next morning without the breakfast) since I arrived after a late flight. The general cleanliness of this B&B is not good, with unclean linen and carpets not looking clean either.I decided to leave after the first night (leaving immediately the next morning without the breakfast) since I arrived after a late flight. The general cleanliness of this B&B is not good, with unclean linen and carpets not looking clean either. I booked this B&B during peak season and for xxx a night, it's not cheap. I ended up getting a room for the next 3 nights at a hotel near MIT immediately the next day for xxx a night, with lots more amenities and free wifi. I don't think I'll go back to this B&B.
The staff was really nice.
The TV didn't work properly (both tuning, volume) which made it really hard to catch up on news, weather, while visiting. This is my main complaint.Detached bath is OK but you will need to plan accordingly given it requires walking around in public parts of the hotel (foot traffic upstairs isn't high but it does happen and can be awkward).
friendly staff easy access to public transportation
The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was large, and there weren't too many guests in the halls and common areas.
The hotel itself could use some updating, especially in the bathroom. The bathroom towels were super scratchy, and generally the amenities could have been of a higher quality. Things like the tissues, toilet paper, linens, complementary breakfast. This Inn was good for a one night stay, and if you plan to spend most of your time out of the room. Amenities were low quality, and the walls were thin. Everything looks pretty until you look closely and see how many things need fixing. I didn't realize how much I would hear the T from my window, but it was noticeable and unpleasant. The bathroom I had was large, but really needed updating. The walls surrounding the claw-foot tub needed patching. There is no area to sit and eat the complementary breakfast, which included store-bought (as in supermarket) pastries and bagels. There was al...
