the staff was friendly and attentive!
every wall plug was worn and wouldn't hold a charger.
Liked that I didn't get to hear any noise,, my room was at the end of the hallway,, perfect, all night sleep,, the front desk personal was very nice,
was really hoping to enjoy the company of my family by poolside,, but hotel does not allow guests that are not staying to use the pool,, this was disappointing,,, I was traveling alone, no fun getting in the pool alone.
There was roaches
The room and bathroom were clean. Housekeeping came in daily and made sure everything was fresh. The staff was nice and easy to work with. For the star rating that this hotel is listed as, it was a great place to stay compared to other in the area.
This is an old hotel that the owner is trying to work on. So it feels ran down and well used. But, It also feels like they are doing their best to work with what they have.
1. For my purposes, the location and ease of access to the International Border and the companies I visit in Matomoros, MX. 2. The staff has always been a pleasure to interact with and thier genuine family atmosphere.
Nothing worth writing about.
i HAVE BEEN COMIN 2 THIS HOTEL SINCE EARLY 2007 WHEN ITS NAME WAS DAYS INN. I HAD BEEN 2 OTHERS IN BROWNSVILLE AND NO OTHERS WERE TO MY SATIFICATION BASED ON CLEANLINESS & COMFORT. HOTEL IS NICE & QUIET AT NIGHT. THE POOL IS OUR FAVORITE EVERY TIME.
I ENJOY IT EVERY TIME AND LOOK FOWARD TO OUR TRIP TO BROWNSVILLE.
quiet and clean
the key kept not working and it would have been good if the pool would have been heated
The staff was very friendly. When we first got there our tv didn't work but they came very quick to fix the problem. Sometimes the hot water would take forever to get hot and the fridge had rust in it, but they did come clean the room and provide us with clean towels everyday. So overall it was a good hotel, it really exceeded my expectations for being a one star hotel. Just wish it was closer to the Island.
This hotel was poorly maintained, from the lobby to the rooms, and especially the gym. Lobby and rooms had a bad smell (probably cleaning products to mask other odors). Won't be staying there again and don't recommend it.
My stay was not good. I was told there was complimentary centennial breakfast, which they didn’t have. There was a Mexican restaurant on premises. It rain while we were there and all the carpets near the doors out of the build were soaked. The WIFI did not work well. There were bugs in the room. I was not happy.
The hotel was clean and we were given our option of upstairs or downstairs rooms which was convenient. The room was nice and had a refrigerator and microwave a very important feature to me. I could not find a wireless signal, although that made little difference since I have my own and they only have a coffee bar, not a breakfast set up in the mornings which didn't impact me but may impact other visitors that count on it. There is a Mexican restaurant in the hotel, I cannot comment on that however as I did not go there. The pool was clean and open a huge benefit to me. The perfect place to unwind after a long day. Location was perfect as we stayed here and spent our days in South Padre about 24 miles away. All in all, I would stay here again. It works for my purposes, but lack of breakfast and wireless may impact others wishing to stay here.
The hotel is located in a good location. It's right off of the expressway, which made it easy to get around. The staff was really nice. The room was okay and clean. The downfall was that they didn't have a computer room for me to print my tickets for my flight. They had one computer in the front that dial up. It was extremely slow. They also do not have wireless internet. They have a really good Mexican restaurant in it.
The tv was fuzzy and the front desk guy came to fix it. He said they remodeled the rooms and not the cable and he couldn't fix it. The laMps in the room didnt work and the outlets were iffy as far as functioning properly. There was hair on the pillow cases and bed sheets. The bottom fitted sheet came about a foot and a half from the end of the bed, so your feet will touch where everyone elses has touched who stayed in the hotel. The interest was too slow to stream movies that we tried to watch on netflix since the tv didnt work. Overall, not so good...
I had a great time while I was in Brownsville.
