Far from the centre and not easy to find. We first found the Albert Hotel and thanks to the reception there, they provided us a map of the area and highlighted the streets to take us to La Potinière. After seing the Albert Hotel, we wished to have booked there. The trams are really a nightmare to figure out because there was a renovation on the tram ways - i.e.normally there is a tram that takes you the Gare du Nord in 5 mins but due to the change in route it took 20-25 minutes to arrive there.
Bed was sleep-able.
I read someone mentioning the coffin like elevetor..thought he was exagerating,.... but he was not.... never seen anything like it..... and free parking available = parking on the streets.... didnt feel safe at all
Good transport links to town, helpful staff
Heating not on and no hot water in the showers
Convienient to Brussels airport by car. It is a relatively inexpensive place to stay. Staff was sincere and helpful. Sufficient continental breakfast with early hours was a plus.
Our room had been recently remodeled and the remodel odors lingured.
Smell in rooms was very bad. Poor breakfest. Far from city center.
cheap place to stay with good public transport nearby
location of the place, old facilities, poor breakfast
Paid for twin room and got a double with a very narrow bed, not ideal for two men! It was also very hot in the rooms
This was probably the worst hotel I have staid in for a long time, but also one of the cheapest - and that was why I chose it. Finding cheap hotels in Brussels is really hard. But this one sure made me think.
The room was hotter than an oven, but it was the hottest day of the year. It was rather dinky, but not too bad otherwise, and shower and toilet were renovated a few years ago. However, that renovation was sloppy, and the door to the toilet did not open properly because it bumped into the bed. There were And the elevator: I hardly could fit with the luggage. Not very clean either, garbage in he corridors. Free wifi is good, but extremely slow and not always available. The breakfast room was the worst, however. In the back, like a furnitue storage. Decent breakfast, clean tables, if you could find one which was not squeezed up against the back. But the back yard view.... Well, you get what you pay for.
While the room was a bit small, and the toilet room tiny, it was certainly adequate for the purpose: overnight accommodation reasonably close to public transport and beyond to the airport. The staff was extremely helpful, and early breakfast outside the normal times was made readily available.
They are a bit over-ambitious about charging the credit card submitted as a guarantee, but I believe a note to the effect that you may wish to pay cash upon arrival would likely be honored. The neighborhood leaves quite a lot to be desired; however, it improves dramatically just a couple blocks away.
Found a nice little pizza cafe around the corner!
Parking difficult and pleased car intact in the morning. Unusually for Active Hotels, this hotel is shabby and did not look particularly clean - I was very pleased I was there without girlfriend. The bed seemed clean and breakfast was ok but I wouldn't come back to this one.
