We were transferred to the older Solmar Resort to quarantine for Covid. The staff was very nice, but the rooms are very old, the TVs are about 32" wide and hang from the ceiling, so you can only watch them when you're laying down in bed. There wasn't even a chair in my room I could use. The room service food was plentiful, but not very flavorful and they have very few healthy items on the menu. However, the staff was fabulous! If you are on a budget this might be an okay place to stay, but it is definitely not deluxe in any way, shape, or form.

3.4 Poor
Pros:The accessibility to the town and ocean The waiters and staff in the resort
Cons:The staff in the front office were incredibly rude to myself and family. They did not have a room for us and instead of being apologetic, described it as “our lucky day.” They tried to send us to their sister hotel, 20 minutes away, away from the beach and town. They were rude, arrogant, unapologetic. We spent the first day arguing to have a room in the hotel we reserved for 3 and 1/2 hours. They eventually gave us someone’s time share with the risk that we may have to leave if they showed up. The rooms were old. My parents sink leaked on their feet every time they used it My husband and mom got food poisoning. Would never return to this hotel.

8.8 Very good
Pros:We had a really great time there. Very family friendly resort, it’s not mordern but very cozy and Mexican.
A
8.2 Very good
Pros:Nice room for good price from kayak
Cons:Incredibly expensive food at restaurants on site. wanted to charge for everything, including items not provided in room.
A
5.7 Fair
Cons:The price for the facilities was not reflective of the age of the hotel. The facilities seemed like it was from the 70's but the price was for something in the 2000's. The beach was not open for swimming either. There was not shuttle to downtown CABO. This seemed impractical since it was probably about 1.5 miles to downtown. You were forced to get a cab for $8 or circle around for downtown parking in a rental car. The staff at the front desk seemed to be perturbed that i was checking in.

8.0 Very good
Pros:Beautiful smaller resort. Love the beach and pool as well as the swim up bar. Clean rooms with a spectacular view.
Cons:A view updates are needed on the rooms but otherwise wonderful place!
A
4.8 Mediocre
Pros:Sunset
Cons:Being nickle and dimed for everything. Eg not informing us it's $30 extra for an additional person also wifi is $16/day. I feel as though if I'm paying $200+ per night it would not only include wifi but assume a minimum of two persons. Front desk staff was extremely slow and seemed disengaged. Overall, not a four star resort like they are listed. Would definitely not recommend anyone spending their hard earned money at this place.

6.2 Okay
Cons:They doing costruction and the sime time doing hotel bussiness. LOL!!! A lot of noise! Dust! Not good!
A
6.0 Okay
Pros:The staff was very good. They helped us get a nice room at the front desk. The pool and grounds and restaurant staff was very accommodating and paid great attention to us. Very Impressed. I requested my reservation with Kayak for 2 adults in my room, and some how the final print out with "Solmar All Inclusive "only had listed 1 adult in my room and charged me extra for my guest $60 each day to stay in my room. And the room was not included to be all inclusive, as stated in the name of the resort on the reservation "Solmar All Inclusive" ----This also was the case with guests checking in at the same time, who we did not know, who had used a different reservation process, they were charged additional for the second person and did not know it was not all inclusive.. ----The front desk staff, did try to help us... Obviously not there fault. They explained that if we paid for a more expensive room, we would not get charged for the extra guest, either way we ended up having to spend much more than we agreed when we booked and paid with visa the room on line. Very Disappointing. The entire time we were there we were surrounded by construction both at the entry of the resort and tractors on the beach in front of our view. The work began early in the morning waking us up every morning, jack hammers tearing up concrete and large tractors moving bolders and palm trees all day long. This was not disclosed on the reservation. Very Disappointed. The view was nice, but the rooms were very outdated. We stayed 2 nights at Solmar to visit friends staying there for a special occasion. The staff every where was wonderful but we would not return to this property. They did not disclose that the property was in major construction, the room was dated, and the price charged before arriving was not at all the price I had to pay to stay there..

Pros:Beautiful place!
Cons:Didn't like the fact that all elevators were out of service and had to walk up and down from the 4th floor.
