Good location, and was quiet even though on a main street.

The room I got was in the building adjacent to what was on the photographs and it felt like a basic hotel room at that point instead of a bed and breakfast.

I had an early morning meeting, so couldn't sample the breakfast. The gentleman at the desk was very nice and helpful.

When there was a problem with the priceline reservation, andrea was very accomodating.

I have never had a continental breakfast at a B&B, i.e.; packaged pastries and serve yourself. I am used to home cooked food. The staff other than the manager Andrea had no interest in speaking with us and were put out when we asked questions.

Definitely would not return. The bed was so uncomfortable, I had to make a visit to my chiropractor when I got back home. Generally I love B & B's due to the hospitality. None existed here with the exception of Andrea. The staff manning the desk did not even look up when you were entering or exiting. When asked questions, they would move their eyes only, from the computer screen they were staring at and give you a one word answer. The bathroom in the room where we stayed had no window that opened and was extremely small. The bed was also only a full size, too small for 2. The building was in need of updating. It was...

The location

The AC did not work in the room. It shut off frequently and made the room humid. Very uncomfortable pillows.

The staff was so helpful and kind. I needed to stay an extra day but the hotel (and most of the surrounding ones) were fully booked. They did everything in their power to get me an extra night stay. When I visit my daughter in Boston, I will stay there.

The one elivator by our room was very small and it took forever to get to the floors.

It's a great hotel. With clean and spacious rooms.

The breakfast selection was poor.

Nothing

It was extremely uncomfortable and weird and staff threatened invasive damage against me.

Never stay here. It seems like an ok spot but really all of the bed and breakfasts in the area are extremely weird. I wouldn't really consider the people personable nor accommodating.

Location is pretty good, with 10 mins to Harvard square and 20 mins to Porter square; fairly stable internet.

The room was tiny, so was the TV (and placed on a high cupboard); no option to not have towels replaced everyday; have to go out to the hallway to make tea/coffee; slow internet.

The location is great. It's only a block or so from the Harvard Sq T station so we were able to get around Cambridge and Boston extremely easily. There were also lots of restaurants in the area and the bed was pretty comfortable.

The room was tiny and the walls were paper thin. We were near the elevator and we heard it ding all night. There was also no way to sleep-in the next morning because we could hear housekeeping vacuumm every room on our floor.

Overall, the hotel was decent but what you are truly paying for is the location and the updated modern design scheme. The room was tiny (my boyfriend and I couldn't pass each other very easily between the end of the bed and the TV/dresser) and again, the thin walls were a bit annoying given how close we were to the elevator. However, if you are travelling alone and rise by 8 or 9am in the morning, you should be fine. P.S. The elevator is amazingly slow. We were on the 4th and top floor and even tho...

The Charles Hotel is centrally located in Cambridge, so it's very easy to get around the town. We walked wherever we needed to go and got there quickly and easily. The hotel has several dining options and an actual fitness club, not just a room with some cardio equipment and universal equipment. The wifi works well and the staff were all very helpful. It's pretty expensive to stay here, but we found a good deal on one of the discount hotel sites. I'd return in a heart beat.

Great location near the center of Harvard Square. Rialto is an excellent restaurant. Regatta Bar is great if you like jazz.

Hotel is in need of renovation. New England shabby-chic means it's just a basic hotel in terms of cleanliness and room amenities. Bathrooms are seriously dated and in need of complete redo. Service levels are mediocre. Business center is a joke (1 computer and an attached printer). Prices are very high: you are paying for the location.

The breakfast they offer was great

For the price it is the worst place I have ever stayed! The beds are uncomfy, you can see where the walls have been repaired poorly, the toilet was place to far under the counter that you couldn't leave the seat up (had to hold it while using it), the fixtures and sprinklers had green corrosion covering them. I have said at better motels and spent alotttt less then $225+ a night!!

Parkside on Ellery in Cambridge, Massachusetts has been described by a guest as having “…all the comforts of home and all the privacy of a hotel”. Built in 1865, this post Civil War Victorian has been renovated for modern comforts. Nice boutique hotel. Incredibly friendly staff. I loved the high-quality coffee available 24/7 (Nespresso, not K-cups!). Also, water, orange juice, and soda available anytime for no charge.

Prices are either the average per night price per room or first night of stay. You can select to display the prices with or without our estimate of taxes & fees (which may not appear on provider's booking page but will be charged at hotel checkout). Before you complete your reservation, verify the total cost on the provider's site. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.
