The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice.

Not enough water pressure. not enough linens. There was a portable floor airconditioner too loud!

The room was spacious. Really nice dining experience. Easy access to hotel from highway 1. Spa was a good addition.

1) The room had spiders 2) It was not made clear a priori that the room lacked Air Conditioning. The receptionist did not make this clear either. 3) There were used soaps and shampoos of previous residents of the room that were not cleared out. 4) Bed was bad.

I loved the location. Definitely felt like the countryside!

This motel needs some serious updating! It was a very dark unit, there were cobwebs behind the curtains and on the bathroom walls, old wood panels cover most of the walls and the furniture looks like it is from 1970's.

The hotel manager was very accomodating in spite of checking in well after curfew. In spite of the cobwebs in some areas, the unit felt relatively clean otherwise. I also wish they would have provided paper towels in the kitchen.

Location, location, location, The river outback was the highlight. It was also nice to roast marshmellows by the fire.

No tv, dim lighting

It is right next to the highway. There is a pool, general store, gift shop, small gallery, resteraunt, gas station all on the premises.

The staff was helpful and it was close to everything I needed e.g., groceries, fuel, place to eat. It was also close to places I wanted to visit.

Internet was sporatic and I killed two spiders, including one small one that crawled out from under my pillow.

I had a room on the side of highway one that was not close to the river. I crossed highway one each time I needed to go to the office, grocery store, or restaurant. I was on my own so it wasn't a problem, but if I had small children I would not have wanted to stay on that side. The people were friendly and helpful. It was close to a lot of places to visit in Big Sur.

Common room. Location to beach. Fire places. Breakfast quiche. Noon check out.

Bedrooms were simple. Needed ceiling fans and screens on windows to keep them open.

Overall great experience. Looking forward to our next visit!

Cute little cabin, with pine armchairs out front, friendly staff, smashing pool and hot tub.

No.

A lovely country hideaway in the Carmel Valley. We stayed in a cute little cabin, and made use of many of the facilities. Check out Wills Fargo down the street for dinner! A really lovely experience at a great price.

The room was big, the bathroom very big. The TV was new (HD) and crazy good. Liked the nine-hole putting course and the availability of golf. Grounds were nice (we had a pond outside our room) and staff was very friendly

Our mini fridge was too loud, revved up and down. Our main hanging light in room did not work, but we didn't need it. Breakfast area got a little crowded and sometimes there wasn't enough sitting area for the amount of guests, some of whom were rude

We would come back, especially if we could get another room that faced the pond (room 201) or water (without having anyone in a room above us). Being away from the highway was a plus, too, not that you could hear it that much. They had a meeting room that faced the back deck and main water area, which might make a better breakfast area. Overall, we liked the hotel and its proximity to the lower valley and Carmel.

Great Location near everything. Friendly helpful staff.

Right across our a room dog barked all night. I had asked about bringing a dog and they said my room would be in a different location near entrance for easy access and rooms are selective, but yet a dog right across my room barking. Even room service heard the dog when he came to our room. I asked him and he said he was going to ask for me.. Nothing happened.

My friend and I stayed at the Dolphin Inn for two nights. The location is great ,but the property is in bad conditon. The windows were a mess, screens falling off ,crank for windows didn't work. It was very warm and there was no air conditioning. We were quite uncomfortable trying to sleep under the way too warm conditions.. There were ugly spots on furniture and rugs. It is expensive to stay there. They should spend money updating and repairing the property..a little paint would help Also the internet did not work the first night we were there. I could not get assistance as the staff had all gone home. They did fix the problem the next morning ..Staff was always friendly and as helpful as they could be. But we think it is not worth it for the price.. If you want a fairly close location to shops and restaurants this is okay. but.there are other beautiful accomodations we have stayed in, in the past, that would meet our location needsbetter and they are not as overpriced and under ...

Prices are either the average per night price per room or first night of stay. You can select to display the prices with or without our estimate of taxes & fees (which may not appear on provider's booking page but will be charged at hotel checkout). Before you complete your reservation, verify the total cost on the provider's site. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.
