Late night menu could be upgraded/ not so limited..
The rooms were so beautiful, bright and clean. The staff were very attentive to any of our needs and requests. Location is wonderful for walking to shops and restaurants. The brunch in the hotel was amazing. My only complaint was the noise factor of the AC unit and the beds were a bit hard on my back. Even though the hotel seemed a bit pricy, it was well worth it and we plan on returning.
Prime location. Excellent, courteous, helpful staff. First class experience.
The best place to stay in Charlston
We recently stayed at the Belmond for my sisters birthday- we knew we were in for a great experience as soon as we checked in- champagne and a birthday cake awaited us! We stayed in the executive level and it was worth every penny. The food quality and presentation is outstanding and the staff were very accommodating. The bar hosts a great variety of top shelf liquors and wines. We travel to many luxury hotels and this one surpasses all of them!
This is one of our favorite hotels in downtown Charleston! Fantastic location, right in the heart of downtown, with so many restaurants and so much shopping just steps away. We have stayed in many different hotels, this is one of our favorites, plus the beach is a 10 minute drive away! A must stay next time you go to Charleston.
The bar and comfortable room
The price of the rooms is high
Gorgeous rooms, extremely friendly and helpful staff representing the best of Southern hospitality, very nice indoor salt-water pool. Located in the heart of downtown, making local sites very accessible.
High price tag.
Visited for my fiance's 30th birthday and we had fantastic service. Jessie was really accommodating in making it a special event - champagne and strawberries were waiting for us upon check in!
Very good room service.
Ken, on the Club Floor always provides incredible service. He makes your stay! Frank is no longer there. You will not find a better location, or staff on the hotel side.
The spa service is sub-standard, and over-priced. Therapists were not attentive to requests, and hearing complaints about their job because they didn't receive benefits, was unsettling. Urban Nirvana in Charleston offers the best service. Consider opting for their spa at Wentworth Mansion. The service and value trump Charleston Place, any day. Also the spa charged a 20% tip without notifying me, and overcharged for the services rendered. The spa therapists aren't Belmond Charleston Place employees, and are quick in letting you know that.
