The entrance to the Hotel is tastefully done in a "Southern Charm". Rooms were somewhat small as the beds were full size and not queen size, however, my view of St. Michaels Church spire each morning and evening was breath taking.

Hotel is extremely convenient to everything - all within walking distance. And having a pool was definitely great at the end of the day spent walking or bicycling everywhere.

What I did NOT like was once a person booked through Kayak, the hotel would not help you with your room. I called the hotel prior to arrival to make sure I had a king sized bed as I requested but the hotel refused to assist me since I did not book directly with them. So although I again requested a king size bed for my wife and I, and for our married friends as well, through the Kayak booking agency - neither of us had a king sized bed but instead two double beds! And the beds were like marshmallows so you sink in them. While that may be fun for some but many of us like support under our backs. I informed the hotel of my displeasure and request for change; I was "yes'd" but received no change. So I now assume that the most undesireable rooms are avaialble on Kayak because it would lead to toomuch aggravation for the hotel to try to get the normal rate for them.

Great service, location, and really nice room. Rooms seemed large for the area. We got upgraded from the carriage house with two double beds to the main house with two queen beds.

We can't recommend it enough!

This is a wonderful place to stay, corner of King and Broad street in heart of Charleston Historical district. It is advertised in all respects. We stayed in Main House, although the carriage house rooms looked quite satisfactory also. We enjoyed our breakfast in the Ballroom daily instead of in the room. \n \nAn interesting note, when making reservatiions try Online Travel Website first. We found the Online Travel Website rate to be $* less than calling the hotel directly on the day we made the reservation. For dinner hightly suggest 82 Queen, 2 blocks away, garden or inside setting. She Crab soup is best in Savannah.

1.LOCATION: In heart of the historic district -- within walking distance of City Market and waterfront/ship terminal; bus stop for free city-loop trolley right out front. 2. PRICE: Very econmical compared to other hotels in area. 3. STAFF: Very hospitable and accommodating, especially in letting up leave our luggage after check-out time (and before cruise time) and again before check-in time (and after cruise). 4. And the icing on the cake: Toast, the adjacent restaurant on Market Street. We had all four of our breakfasts there -- and never repeated our selection and still left without getting to try other enticing choices. Food and service was excellent.

As a "motor inn", each room opened onto the parking lot, so the "disruptive" noise of people arriving/departing was to be expected. Note: We were not traveling by car, but for those who were, this would have been a major convenience, especially compared to other hotels in the area which didn't appear to have such convenient parking.

In the heart of the historic Charleston. Walking distance to most sights and great restaurants. Room needs updating, paint chipping and peeling, caulking needed in bathroom.  Squeeky bed improved quickly when we asked.  Wine and cheese a wonderful afternoon delight.  Light breakfast was fine.  Good coffee and available if early riser.

We stayed here 2 nights and our first floor room faced the courtyard. People hanging out there drinking and LOUDLY conversing at all hours of the night. The bed was terrible. Our room was right next to a service entrance, more noise, more inconsiderate service workers banging stuff around - you got it at all hours of the night. Please consider another hotel and do not waste your money at this place.

Centrally located in the historic district and incredibly helpful staff.

I was hoping for some comfortable seating in the room, the housekeeping staff used tons of febreeze (or something in the room) to the point that I had to request they stopped as it was difficult to breathe.

Overall the location, price, and staff make this a worthwhile location.

Very convenient, clean, staff very knowledgeable about local restaurants, tourist attractions and other things to do.

It was a small thing, the vending machine would not accept dollar bills and I had to go down to the front desk for change. I told three staff members about the problem and it wasn't corrected until the night before we checked out.

Great room, great location, great staff. I enjoyed our stay, the room was very clean, great air conditioning, and while the wine and cheese tasting was of average quality it was a very nice amenity that allowed us to meet other guests and more of the staff.

The location of The Planters Inn could not be more convenient. No need for a car; everything is within walking distance. The restaurant is one of the best in the city; don't miss the coconut cake. The staff is attentive and have an amazing knowledge of the city and its attractions as well as the less touristy dining spots.

Great location and easy to get everywhere in the area. Short on staff so it takes a while to get any thing done. We checked in late and there was only one person working. Some guy that was behind the counter, but in street clothes when out to valet our car and when I went to get my phone from the car, it was gone. Hotel staff could not care less. They couldn't even figure out who the guy was that parked our car.

Prices are either the average per night price per room or first night of stay. You can select to display the prices with or without our estimate of taxes & fees (which may not appear on provider's booking page but will be charged at hotel checkout). Before you complete your reservation, verify the total cost on the provider's site. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.
