KAYAK
The experience was terrible. The ad on Kayak said it was airport terminal pick up, we chose this and avoided shuttle bus pick up purposely as we had 2 kids and wheelchair user in our group. When we arrived at the airport and checked the area for pick up we could not see an Avis station anywhere, we asked several people at the airport who also could not tell us where it was. I then checked the email for pick up (which I had assumed we would not need until picking up the vehicle) it said we needed to get a shuttle bus. We ended up hiring a different car with Hertz at the terminal, which was 3 times the price. We contacted Avis (through qeeq, it wasn’t even directly with Avis which was more annoying) who tried to tell us several times that the ad said “shuttle bus for pick up” after sending them several screenshots to prove otherwise they then wanted boarding passes to prove we were actually there and also the receipt from Kayak, we still have only received a minimal partial refund. Lesson learned on our end, no matter what the ad says always check your booking confirmation as companies obviously like to change the agreement after you’ve paid for it.
