The agency was not open @ 7:00 am so that we could return the car before a 9:00 flight.I had to go next door to Avis ansd was told that was a common problem and that I should leave the copy of the rental agreement plus keys and money for parking and she would tell Europcar where to go and find it.. This seemed risky to me: however, I had no other choice.

I had ordered a "standard" car, since we were 2 couples with a considerable amt. of luggage & we recieved an intermediate Kia, in which the driver's side door handle literally broke off the door the second time we opened that door, & we were charged for it "because we broke it" by normally opening the door !! They did exchange the car for a similar one the next day.

Pickup at the airport took an inordinate amount of time, even after we provided our flight information while making the reservation. We were literally the last to be picked up; this after a rep from ANOTHER car rental company called Next Level on three (3) occasions on our behalf. Once picked up, not in a van that could hold all of our luggage, but a small jeep, we were shuttled to the office which is fairly far from the airport (Cupecoy) and not near any of the other car rental companies. Once at the car rental office, we once again, had to wait an inordinate amount of time for the employee to arrive at the office (approximately 30 minutes). After receiving the vehicle, things were fine with the vehicle itself and drop off at the airport upon return of the vehicle was prompt.

Car was banged up pretty badly - looked like a rent a wreck. Had to go back three times for issues - trunk would not close; they attempted to fix it but ended up not using trunk as it would not close even after waiting for an hour for repairs; and then brakes were grinding so bad we thought we would not stop coming down hills - finally got the car replaced with another one only for it to have an electrical problem so it would not start and had to leave it in underground parking for three days before getting a replacement. Wasted three days without a car and got no compensation.Granted the replacement that 5th finally brought to us was a brand new vehicle but only after spending so much holiday time going back and forth to the rental car company.

Car worked great. No issues at all. Had some scratches that the employee took photos of before we took off. The gas tank was 3/4 full when we got it so we had to return it at 3/4 full. This would have been tricky but we lucked out and guessed correctly. Easy to pick up and drop off: rental car shuttle was at the airport to pick us up and took us right away to the airport when we dropped car off.

I reserved two different vehicles for the same price and cancelled the smaller vehicle. When I arrived to pick up the SUV I found out that Hertz cancelled the SUV reservation. The rep at the counter said they were the same price so he brought the SUV. When I checked out I was charged full price that hertz charged rather than the agreed price on the reservation, that’s about a $200 difference. Why bother booking anything online ahead of time if I’m going to be charged a higher amount when I return the vehicle.

Upon arrival they tried to give me a small car instead of the luxury SUV that I rented. I was told to get any SUV it would be an additional cost. I ended up leaving and renting from a more reputable company.

Tried to charge me a higher rate than the one that was booked. Check-in personnel were slow and unfriendly. Clearly they did not want to be there.

Cons:

When I arrived at the airport to pickup my car - the Alamo representative at the shuttle said there were no cars available for me. Even though I had reserved a car and received a confirmation of that reservation through Kayak. The representative explained that they try to block reservations because they have a limited number of cars available and cannot fulfill all of them. There should be a better way to track this through your site and your rental affiliates.

Pros:

While they didn't have my car ready, they gave me another one. The car was cheap relative to others. Overall it was ok and what I expected in the Caribbean.

Cons:

Car wasn't ready for me. Car was not really clean. The van to and from the airport was not very clean and they jammed us into the vehicle.

I have been going to Sint Maarten for years renting cars. This year Alamo provided the car exactly as per my priceline agreement. No hard sell on insurance and they gave me a car tat had fewer than normal miles.

First car had serious problems: brakes grinding, brake light on, check engine light on. Returned the car to get another... second car needed tune-up or something, because it kept mis-firing and jerking.

Shuttle driver was a nice and helpful man on both trips. Good fuel efficient car and the price was alright up until the conversion to Canadian money which was almost 50%. Drop off was difficult as there were (3) different adresses. One on the invoice and (2) different ones online. Overall, good experience.

The car rental was cheap but the quality of the cars rented are in rough shape. Scratches are everywhere, window controls broken, glove box easily falls open, rear view mirror is barely hanging on. It will get you from A to B but certainly nothing more

A bit disorganized when I dropped off the car on 7/23/2022. My luggage had my luggage taken out of my car for shuttle but then they wanted the luggage back in my car to drop me off at the airport. Something was loose in the beginning like piece of the side fender that I pointed out when I got the car. I brought that to the attention of the guy there under ACE car rentals and he said it is fine. Few days later something was dangling from it and piece was looser. Brought car back to fix it. If it was fixed in the beginning it would have been more efficient. Price also could have been lower. Good mini car. 😀

No one was at airport on arrival. A person from another company called them and they eventually arrived. Rental office near sunset bar rather than main airport drag with other companies. Office greeting muted and not sure about answers I received on whether liability insurance is required by law but they charged anyway

Pros:

Easy to book and price was under $50 for the day in smallest car offered.

Cons:

The pick up was a bit to do, when I arrived no one was at the office and I couldn’t reach anyone by phone but the neighboring car rental attendant called them and they arrived quickly. In their defense, I had only booked the car a little over an hour before I arrived. The car was moderately clean and easy check out and back in. I would rent from them again if I need.

Don’t be fooled by the cheap pricing!! This Nu car rental is not at the Airport, so you will not see signs for them. Another nice guy from a major agency called them for me to pick us up. Then they pick you up in your car, drive you around the airport to a 3rd party agency acting as Nu. It’s a rinky dink place, and not written anywhere, it’s a mandatory purchase of LDW for $6/day!! Also they gave a small economy car as a full size car! In hindsight, reserve from a major car rental.
