This rental was for a body shop repair on our regular car. The shop estimated two weeks for the repair with the rental running from Tuesday 10AM. The shop owner did us a favor and worked the weekend to get our car done in 10 days, so we returned the rental car 4 DAYS EARLY. Agent said no problem, he'll adjust it then handed us the bill. The first week cost $38.50/day at the weekly rate. For the "extra" days they increased the price to $67.25/day. In other words, they charged us the same rate as the original two week rental. So don't ever expect a credit on an early return. Keep the car.6.0 Okay

The convenience of being able to pick up in TAMPA AND DROP OFF IN BRADENTON and vice versa. Location is close to highway and easy to get to. Office is inside Sears so there is a place to turn in the key if you drop off after hours even though technically there is no after hours drop off accepted. The car I picked up on the way back was clean.Cons:
The office is only open till 1 on weekends and no after hours drop off. I turned in the car the key and the contract at 1:05 anyway even though the office was closed. Next Monday tried to call-- impossible to reach by phone-no one ever answers--had to drive back to find a clerk who is completely incompetent. he charged me a $14 fee for "driving less than 75 miles" when actually the charge was for not filling tank even though I put in more gas than I used and turned in a receipt to prove it at drop off. When I picked up a car a week later to return to Tampa the same guy Joe recorded the wrong starting milage so it looked like I drove over 2000 miles. Just appalling and inexcusable service.Avis

The pickup location was in an almost abandoned mall in Bradenton. It appeared to me that the rental was not well cleaned or properly disinfected. There was some junk left in the trunk from a previous customer. The low tire pressure light was lit up. I just had the feeling that the car was not properly inspected or cleaned before it was re-rented.2.0 Poor

The staff lady, Hendra, at picking up was very courteous and helpful. That is the only part of the experience that was good. The rest was a mess. The car had an "emergency" light showing some sort of issue all the way making me feel unsecure. It went on at the pick up location and all suddenly shut off two hours later. The car was filthy and with strong offensive smell. I had to place three towels on the seats saved I could place my hand bag and sit on the driver seat. The stearing wheel was disgusting as well. The air conditioning would work on and off. And to close, the drop off was a nightmare. There were basically NO clear signs at the drop off location to advise where was the entrance to the Avis drop off parking. Other car rental companies clerk's said this was a regular problem and that they had Avis customers coming to them for instructions on where to go and the Avis vehicle drop off. The other companies clerk's mentioned that confused (Avis) customers had drop off their Avis rental at the other companies lots and those customers were being charged for not having dropped off the vehicle (when indeed they had, just that they did following the poor signaling by Avis.Cons:

Joe Ulisano, Avis agency operator was great to deal with. Avis had a location in the above airport. Rates were in $700+ range for a week. I went on Kayak & this location and $227 rate popped up. This is a $20 taxi ride takes 15 minutes to get to. it is a true hidden gem and a no brainier $$ wise. We had s new Chevrolet Equinox. We will always use Kayak and seek out Joe later this winter when we return to the area.8.0 Very good
