Pros: I'm giving food a mediocre rather than poor because they served Haagen-Dazs ice cream in a desperate effort to try to make us think we were on Dragonair. If only.
Cons: We were late, of course (though they made us all board and sit on the plane for two hours -- maybe to claim an on-time departure?). They blamed Chinese ATC, of course, which may be part of the problem... but then why don't other airlines (Dragonair) seem to have as much of a problem on the HKG-PVG route?
In any case, it took twice as long as it should have to get to Shanghai. At least I was able to switch to an earlier flight than I had been booked on, so I got to Shanghai at more or less the same time I was originally scheduled.
As usual with China Eastern, service was fine, if inflexible (e.g. ridiculous assertion that an iPhone in flight mode is not OK but an iPad is).
