Located in Clarksville across the Ohio River just one mile from downtown Louisville, Kentucky, the Clarion Hotel Conference Center Louisville North with the on-site Atlantis Water Park is located just 1.5 miles from the Kentucky International Convention Center, Fourth Street Live, Louisville Waterfront Park and the Great Lawn, KFC YUM! Center, Churchill Downs and the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. Ohio riverfront dining options are just one mile away.
I did not have time to investigate or walk around to enjoy any of the amen,
I think there is a lot of potential there. It was under a major facelift. The finished parts showed promise. The pool looked like it could be a fun place to hangout.
It was dirty, old and not a nice hotel. The front desk staff was ok, but the bar staff was not well trained in how to serve customers. Once the construction is complete, it might be better, but there is not a chance it will be a destination. I only stayed there since all the hotels in the area were booked. I won't stay there again unless I need to.
Rooms were remodeled/redecorated. Online pictures a bit deceiving in the overall quality of the hotel.
Disjointed layout (rooms not all accessible from a lobby elevator). Hallways were dark and dank. Elevator sounded like it was going to break every time. Staff wasn't very professional.
Nice staff and facilities.
Goose droppings everywhere outside. Inside is very clean.
We had a very relaxing stay and the staff was very hospitable. We loved the pool and the big window overlooking the pond.
Food, excellent! Conference center is upscale, as a meeting planner I liked it. Staff was helpful, with weekday restaurant Staff a bit more willing to accommodate quickly. Weekend restaurant staff seemed less interested. Rooms were nice for the $$. Pool is lovely. Definitely a hot spot for families on vaca. A Lobby snack stand and small gift shop would be more in line with the direction I believe you're going, rather than directing guests to the vending machines. A concierge service to offer info about local attractions, coupons etc.would be nice. The lounge is very nice. Felt like a downtown hotel lounge.
Parking. Checkin staff directed me around the side entrance to get to my room. Very inconvenient. Provide bell carts for guest use, and let guests know how they can access without going outside and driving around. This made it feel like a motel, instead of hotel. Vanities in bathrooms are Very low. Air conditioners in rooms are loud, but we got used to it, as white noise.
The Location was great for me all the site I wanted to see was close had myself and five grand kids they love it. the only problem I had was not enough towels. I see that they were working on a few thing.
Large parking lot. Sea and cartoonish patterns on walls and elevators adds the beach vacation type atmosphere. Staff is really friendly and helpful.
The weather was heavy storms for our stay. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the water park on site.
The hotel is in a great location just over the river with several great restaurant choices within 10 mins
The hotel is in severe need of updating which it looks like they are working on. First room had plugged sink and busters heater/ac unit they got it right on the second try though.
The lobby was very nice and the rooms were pretty nice as well.
The staff at the front desk were younger ladies that were very preoccupied with there own personal conversations and would actually make guests wait until they were finished before greeting them. This happened to me and I saw it happen with other guests. I am big on service, so that put a little bit of a sour taste in my mouth from the get go. We were told breakfast was included and found out it was $10 a person. Very expensive for a hotel breakfast. Lastly, the bath tubs are very much in need of replacement. They are rusting through and have disgusting mats in the bottom of them.
It was clean.
You can hear every single thing that happens in the hallway. The doors are heavy so even if they are closed lightly it sounds like a bomb is going off. Also, breakfast isn't included.
The front desk staff on 6/28 was very nice. The beds were comfortable.
The hotel is dated, and it shows. The floors, windows, pools, and bathroom just weren't very clean. There was something gross on the #7 button in the elevator. It was there when we checked in and when we checked out. It looked like dried blood. I cringed everytime we got in there because, of course, we were on the 7th floor. It appeared that towels and toiletries had been placed in the bathroom but no real cleaning had been done. There were still water spots and a bit of a puddle on the fixtures from the previous occupants. One of the towels was stained or dirty. We were hesitant to use it. The outdoor pool desperately needed a cleaning, lots of debris floating in the water. We had breakfast at the restaurant, and the servers and the cashier got into a disagreement over table rotation. They did move it into the kitchen, but it was loud enough that the dining room could clearly hear. We would not book this hotel again.
