We arrived late. Staff left door unlocked in our room.
Tiny room with double bed. Cable and toilet manually operated. Parking far away from room in field.Plans had changed and needed to be in Biloxi following night. Was told I would only be charged for one night, but was billed for two nights. Priceline says its motels job. Motel says its Pricelines job, so I'll use Expedia from now on and stay at Gulf Beach Inn's neighbor Sandman. Thanks for nothing
After the 3 night , Nothing
Hey there , we recently stay at the Gulf Beach Inn hotel , I feel it¿s better to for others if I write this review of this hotel, I have stay on different ones in clear water beach over the years, but I have to say this is the worst by far..Let me explain why, because of work , I plan my trip on short notice , so when I went to search for a hotel on price line I found this one for xxx a night , stay there 3 dreadful nights , first check in time was at 3 Pm, some other hotels I have stay before they allow me in around 12 or 1 pm if the room is ready , talking about room ready , didn¿t have a hair dryer , had to go ask for it to the front desk , didn¿t have an Iron , had to go ask for it again , I was not able to find the Remote for the small TV in the room , went to ask for it and they gave me the remote for the A/C I guess I must have some strong accent , to confuse a TV remote with an A/C remote, a...
Most definetly the location!
Rooms could be a little more clean, but for the price, I guess it's duable.A little painting and a quick fixing of the grounds (flower/tree beds) with a fence to make it a little more private, the hotel wouldn't look scary. Overall, I would stay again.
Hotel is within walking distance of everything... Owners were a bit strange, but still extremely helpful and friendly....
only downside was the fact that I was given the impression that the local pd may still ticket for parking even with hotel pass.Close to multiple restaurants, the beach, and best of all Shepard's. Definitely not a 5 star if that's what your looking for, but for the price it can't be beat.
Close to the beach
OLDThe location was great but the hotel was a bit run down.
Rooms were clean and spacious
That the office closed at 8 pm. We were running behind and did not show up till 8:30 pm. The office guy did call to check to see when we will be arriving and gave me instructions where the key to our room was located.Make sure you give a phone number where you could be reached while traveling in case you will be after 8 pm.
Location & Manager (JAY )
Small Cramped toilet, couldn't even sit on toilet straight. very small shower stall. No support whatsoever, in the mattress. Felt like old style coil springs. No heater in room. It was very chilly (40's & 50's) just an AC unit only. The best thing that I can say is that the manager was a very nice guy and the location is decent for Clearwater Beach. Unfortunately, the room left a little bit to be desired. I do realize that being on Clearwater Beach, you are going to pay a bit more, but I was dismayed at the room. The toilet was right against the wall. I had to sit on it,almost sideways to use. The shower stall was maybe 4' by 2 ', with no soap holder, no showerhead option and the drain didn't drain fast enough, so you are standing in water. The mattress on the bed was like laying on an old coil type mattress. Absolutely, no support whatsoever. And lastly, it was unusually cold when I arrived. I didn't realize until it was...
Located only one block from Clearwater Beach, Gulf Beach Inn is priced $50 or more less than the half-block to oceanside competition. On-site, reserved parking is only $3 per day, vs. $10-15 elsewhwere. Owner/manager lives on site.
No phone or alarm clock ; no wake-up service. Only two floors, but no elevator ; exterior stairs. Only two regular-size pillows for the King Room.Full-size refrig. and m'wave, dishes and utensils allow you to minimize use of pricey local restaurants. 'Old-fashoined', DEEP bathtub. Outdoor pool is medium-sized, but has an end which is EIGHT feet deep -- wonderful. Older style exterior, but rooms are renovated and clean. Virtually every cable TV station is available, but no HBO, Showtime, or similar movie channel.
The staff was very helpful. Priceline had not told them about my rate but I had my receipt and they were willing to correct the charge. It is a great location for the beach and the Clearwater area activities.
We could have used an alarm clock. I know that sounds silly with all the cell phones but it is nice to be able to see a clock. A full sized coffee maker woudl have been nice also.Great deal for a place to stay in this area. Be sure to walk out to the beach for the sunset. Someone donated a firering last year for the patio area so be sure to take advantage of that - there is nothing like meeting the other travelers around the fire after a fun day at the beach.
