I love this Hotel very clean and staff is GREAT.. there has been alot of changes with staff from last time I stayed and it is soGreat.
Thought I hit the jackpot when I got in the room, but it was a downward slope from there on. Refrigerator was broken, and front desk didn't do anything about it after being informed, plastic teaspoon and wrapping paper on floor near bed when got in room, and AC needed a reset, breakfast runs out of things if you don't wake up early enough.
The whole hotel smelled like Pine-sol. Don't know what they were trying to cover up. Only three cars in parking lot each night. The Holiday Inn across the street was full. This hotel needs a good cleaning. Hall carpet had spots all over them.
enjoyed the stay - would recommend to friends and anyone else
Room was not cleaned daily. I stayed from Wednesday to Saturday and it was not vaccumed once or was tub cleaned.
comfort suites did not live up to it's name, well this one at least, the front desk personally were great in greating me even allow me to get a upgrade, because it was my wife and my anniversary and wanted to make it speacial so i ask for a room with a hot tub.the owner of this franchises needs to let go of the wallet and start spending in the rooms. the bed was awful it wasn't even close to being a firm bed, the curtins had stains or were torn, the shower was missing tiles and the ceiling fan wasn't even working. and i have seen better continental breakfast with more items to choose from. the windows were dirty as well. the employees do make it up for it. the rooms were clean the housekeeper did her job the front desk did theres, the ownership just needs to do theres. i wouldn't reccommed this hotel location to my worse enemy.
Recommended because of easy acccess to the beach. Hotel is in need of repairs. Room one-airconditioning not working. Room two-shower sliding glass door broken. Cleaniness fair-beach hotel!
We have stayed here every time we visited the Corpus Christi area. The beds are so very comfortable, the hotel has been quiet every time we stayed, and the beach is easily accessed by walking through the public parking lot across the street. The rooms and public areas are clean and the staff is friendly. We think it is worth paying a little more. We like that breakfast is available, though it is a bit mundane it is enough. Make sure you eat at Doc's and Snoopy's and take a drive to Port Aransas and stop at the brewery for a cold beverage!
This was a great place to stay with four children! My kids enjoyed it and so did we.
I booked this hotel because I wanted something 'on the beach' with good reviews. If you read the few bad reviews, the'll be about right. I paid extra $* for a 'ocean view balcony' room. Well, I had a glorious view of the hotel next door (which is ON the beach). But I could see the ocean from there, so I can't say they lied. What really got us is that the bed cover was dirty (probably semen stains or some other nasty thing). The sofa was torn (you could see the cheap foam inside). We called to get the bed covers changed, they first said they didn't have any staff so we had to come down get one (if they could get us one) later the manager did show up with one at our room. He himself saw that one was dirty too and brought another. Needles to say at $*/night plus tax this was definitively not worth it. The sheets seemed relatively clean, bed was Ok, room was on the small side (for one that is supposed to come with a little seating area, King size bed and balcony). You couldn't open the windows, they were shot with screws.
We have 4 kids and were able to stay fairly comfortable in the room. The room was new and nice. We should have done more research first. Expected a full kichenette, but instead just a microwave and small refrigerator. Also - their definition of 'across the street' from the beach is a little misleading. It's a hike - especially if you have kids. We chose to drive to the nearby beaches instead. The pool was a litlte small, and there was no shade. The kids still enjoyed it though.
The staff was very courtious and helpful. The hotel is located about 1500 feet from the gulf. You have to walk through the Holiday Inn's parking lot to get to it or drive a half mile to a beach location. For people who have never been to Padre Island, there are many places you can drive right on the beach.
The hotel is very nicely appointed and is convenient to the gulf. I chose this one instead of the Holiday Inn across the street because there were four people in my party and I wanted at least three separate beds, at least one Q or K, and Holiday Inn didn't have anything like that available. The room was beautiful with 2 queens and a sofa bed. The queens were very comfortable but the sofa bed was hideous. It was uncomfortable and stained and was without sheets. We sent down for some but when one of the teen boys who is 6' 1' laid down, his feed hung over almost a foot! The sofa bed was uncomfortable, thin and unusable, so DO NOT count on sleeping on this! There was a tiny spider and a tiny bug in the tub, which I washed away. Otherwise, everything was very clean and in good order. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I like that they have a hot breakfast. All in all,the rooms at this hotel are nicer than Holiday Inn's. I've stayed at HI many times and the pools are nicer, there is an outdoor bar in the summer, an indoor bar and full service restaurant, and it is directly on the beach, but it shows its age. Also, there is no free breakfast at HI.
Great Location, can walk across street to get to Beach. Hotel was surprisingly updated, clean and very friendly desk staff. Room was updated, incredibly fluffy bed a little too fluffy. Definitely can only fit 4 in a room! No real complaints. Breakfast was good!
My family enjoyed staying at this hotel. The beach area isnt exactly across the street, but its a very short walk. The beach was clean and family friendly. The rooms were a bit smaller than most Choice Hotels other sights but it was still functional. Good breakfast with bacon, omlettes, and waffles as well as the other normal hotel breakfast items. Nice pool, safe parking, friendly staff, good internet connection. Refridg and microwave in the room too. There is not a restaruant or fast food place close by. You might need to drive back about 4 to 5 miles to find the nearest chain fast food (Sonic) and a bit more for the chain restaruants, if your into the chain establishments.
After reading traveler reviews, taking virtual tours, and weighing hotel amenities, I finally decided the Comfort Suites was the place to stay on North Padre Island. We paid a bit more to be at the hotel versus others in the area during our 4-night stay, and in the end, I can honestly say that I wouldn't stay there again for the same price ($149-159 per night). Our ocean view room was nice, but of course, partially obstructed by the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort across the street. The location was close to the beach, which was covered in plankton but uncrowded and overall wonderfully relaxing. But the hotel was nothing special... The 'double-pillow top' beds were comfortable enough, but not because they were high quality matresses (the second pillow-top was due to a thick mattress pad). We had a battle with a cockroach the last night of our stay, which emerged from the 'fresh' pile of towels in our bathroom; note that cockroaches should probably be expected in any beach town. The continental breakfast was convenient, but all four mornings we were there, the fruit was wilted and brusied; also, the breakfast was without easy/extra options such as peanut butter, oatmeal or any variety of beverages (hot chocolate, teas, etc)... Also, the small pool looked nice with its fountains, but it was freezing (it may seem like the Texas heat would do the job, but that wasn't the case). And the fitness room equipment was not at all impressive either, with just two treadmills and a bike. If I was going to do the 'beach vacation' all over again, I would traverse the extra 30 miles north to Port Aransas, which (I discovered late in our vacation) has many full-service beachfront resorts and also much cleaner beaches.
The facility was nice but property was removed from our room during our stay. We got the runaround when we reported it and have not gotten resolution yet. Breakfast was mediocre at best.
Breakfast manager was rude to a youngster, inattentive, and condescending. Kitchen in room was nice, however no dishes or utensils. Beds were good.
