The central location was perfect for our family. We have a newborn and was very convenient to run to if needed. The hotel is a little more expensive than other Deadwood hotels, but worth it for us.
The Hotel is right on Main Street - Newly remodeled - Nice Rooms Spotless - Great Breakfest - Staff very Nice - Spent 3 Days in June 2011 - Ran the Deadwood Marathon - and will choose it again next Year !
After traveling to Deadwood many years in the Winter, this is the preferred hotel, convenience, breakfast!!! staff, whatever we need.
No compensation given when we had to defer check-in for several hours due to a water leak. The delay caused us great inconvenience in our birthday weekend plans. Elevator didn't work after we checked in and no one available to help with luggage to 4th floor room. We tried to talk to management, but not available on site. Followed with a letter to express our concern about the staff's handling of our discomfort, but no reply. Wrote to IHG Guest Relations who forwarded letter to local management...still no response from hotel. All of the guests this particular weekend were upset as it was a holiday for which many had made plans far in advance. A small gesture of making sure that our bags were in our rooms and a drink in the bar while we waited would have made a huge difference in the attitudes of guests. Our complaint is not with the rooms, but with the staff. The water break was unfortunate and I'm sure had the staff flustered, but when you are in the SERVICE business, guests should not be made to feel that we are an inconvenience! We will no longer book rooms at Holiday Inn Express. There are many other choices.
This hotel is in the heart of downtown Deadwood, making it possible to walk to all the casino's and shops. The room was adequately sized, and my husband and I loved that there were pillows labeled 'soft' and 'firm' so we didn't spend time beating them to find the right one to sleep on! The bathroom was a thing of beauty. Granite counter tops, a large tub.shower, fluffy towels, and great products provided! The free morning breakfast was also good, with eggs, rolls, coffee and cold cereal. Plenty to start the day.
Deadwood is a great city to have a fun time in.\nThe Holiday Inn Express is a nice hotel, but the parking is horrible.\nRooms were very clean, the staff was quite helpful.\nCasino is right next door ~
What a lovely surprise to find this little gem in downtown Deadwood. Luxurious rooms, quiet, great/accomodating staff
This hotel was very nice. We had a great stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. There were plenty of pillows, towels etc. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We would definately stay again.
friendly front desk personnel, perfect location to main street, comfy beds you don't want to get out of!
Just be careful when you stumble out the door, you might see Wild Bill as you are in the heart of Deadwood
The hotel/rooms were very clean and the staff profes- sional, polite and efficient. Step out the front door and you're on Deadwood's infamous Main Street. Unless something off-the-wall happens, you should have a great time.
