The staff were friendly at all times. Nothing was too much trouble. The layout of the hotel made for a relaxing ambience.
There was nothing really to complain about.
Nice location, clean, generraly good food
Seemed to have a kitchen malfunction on second night and took nearly 2 hours to finish our meal - plates were then almost snatched away......... Similiar situation for breakfast - I'd suggest that they are not accustomed to managing full bookings/multiple covers The focus would appear to be totally around the Spa facility, which is clearly where the major revenue is earned
The hotel was friendly, homely, comfortable, historic and provides good food and drink at a reasonable price. Also conveniently located for Heritage sites, the coast, Canterbury, Dover and Golf Courses.
The room was somewhat small and telly reception poor
The accomodation was excellent and the staff very friendly.
Would have liked to have been able to take breakfast ealier as I had to be in the office for 7.30 (breakfast at 6.45ish)
Good location, fantastic buildings, great staff and fantastic food. Spa facilities were also fantastic.
The room that we stayed in (room 6) was a little on the small side. The hotel rates are (in my opinion) very high compared to other hotel experiences.
The scale and informality of the hotel, grounds and facilities. It is a good place to spend a self-contained weekend without needing to travel to other places.
The loud, thumping music played at breakfast time and often during evening relaxing times in the bar area. It was totally inappropriate and inconsistent with the overall ambience of the hotel.
Great old building but lovingly refurbished
Your bed squeeks and the pillows are aweful gives you a stiff neck. The dinner was o.k. but not brilliant and I think expensive. Not sure if I would recommend the hotel. Surprised that no information on the history of the building was in the bedroom.
terrific in all aspects - will return asap
no radio in my room!
Lovely food and excellent setting
