Built in the 18th century as a pledge of love to his mistress by the Saxon king, August the Strong and restored in 1995, Grand Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden is a beautiful composition of baroque art and contemporary elegance.
It is located in the very heart of Dresden’s historic city centre, vis-à-vis the city’s most famous sights such as Semper Opera House, Residence Castle and the Zwinger.
Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski offers wonderful rooms and contemporary décor – all 182 spacious rooms and 32 luxurious suites are equipped individually.
In four restaurants and bars, you will be able to enjoy the inspiring mastery of the culinary arts: Fine dining in the gourmet restaurant Intermezzo, French ambience in the Palais Bistro, futuristic elegance in the Restaurant Lesage in the Transparent Factory of Volkswagen in Dresden, Café Vestibül with its own patisserie situated at the foot of the hotel's Baroque staircase and the Karl May Bar with its award-winning cocktails and selection of almost 100 different whiskies.
The hotel has six conference rooms on the Bel Etage and a divisible meeting and ball room for up to 500 people. Likewise, it has also its own spa lounge with a pool, wellness and beauty treatments and offers five-star catering services in and around Dresden.
Awesome location in the city center next to Zwinger and Dresden Castle. Great bar.
Poor locations of outlets in rooms. For older people difficult light switch system/technology. Expensive breakfast buffet. Front desk staff could be more helpful with explaining things, e.g. complicated German parking garage system, to foreign guests. Expected more from a luxury hotel.
The location was perfect
Good service, kindly staff and good location. Our family enjoyed well to stay this hotel. Our kids also enjoyed skating at hotel's garden. It was very nice for them.
The location. Their breakfast.
I think that the cost of services, such as parking and internet are very expensive, as compared with Berlin
It was so totally elegant and directly across the street from the Zwinger. The breakfast was gorgeous, very elaborate and delicious.
All of the above
Yes, was unimpressed with the use of the tv/film remote control unit. Worst i've come across in a long time. Also thought the film selection was very limited and there shoud have been an all inclusive internet, film rate.
