I had enough reward points for a free night. Never again. The room was dirty. Even though it was a non-smoking room, it smelled of stale smoke. I was itchy the entire time. My guess is that they have bed bugs. So happy we arrived late and left early the next morning. Even for free it wasn't worth it.
I was supposed to have a room with 2 beds but there was only one. Also, the bathroom was broken and didn't close all the way. The room serves its purpose as a cheap last minute stay but don't expect anything comfortable. The wifi did not work.
I booked this hotel because I had a conference to attend in Hartford. Though a little nervous because some of the reviews, I decided to book because MONEY is MONEY and a penny saved is definitely a penny earned in this economy. I got a room with a King Bed. It had Cable TV, a nice hot shower and free wireless and i paid $50.. I dont see how you can complain.. its not the Ritz and I am saving a lot of dough for the basics.. I would stay again and I would recommend this for anyone that is on a budget.. no, dont go here for your honeymoon but a quick night or two is just fine..
WE ARRIVED LATE ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AND CHECK OUT EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. WE KEPY TRYING TO SWIPE THE CARD THEY GAVE US FOR OUR ROOM AND COME TO FIND OUT THEY GAVE US SOMEONE ELSE'S ROOM. THE PERSON THERE OPENS THE DOOR WONDERING WHY WE ARE TRYING TO GET IN! THEN WHEN THEY DO GIVE US A DIFFERENT ROOM, SOMEONE TRIED SWIPING THEIR KEY INTO OUR ROOM! THE STAFF APPARENTLY DID IT AGAIN TO US! IT WAS SCARY AND I FELT REALLY UNSAFE THE ENTIRE TIME. THAT ONE NIGHT THERE WAS A REAL NITEMARE. THE FRIDGE SMELLED ALSO! JUST SPEND A FEW EXTRA BUCKS AND GO ELSE WHERE...SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE!
Staff are rude and swear at you. Stale donuts and coffee. Will try change rates from what you book. Not pet friendly as stated on website. If you lock yourself out of room don't ask for another key or to be let in. You will get a hassle. During snow & ice storm they do not salt walkways or parking lot. The list goes on. Worst stay of my life. It was a nightmare.
We spent one night in a room in this motel for an important work the next day in Hartford location. Our overall experience was pretty bad, and I haven't ever stayed in a worse motel for that price (approx. $50/night). Here were the pain points:\n\n1. The bathroom door just wouldn't close. The latch/door knob was not working properly. We had to put a wedge as well as a trash can filled with water to keep it closed.\n2. We heard four heavy bangs on the wall (sharing with adjacent room) during the night. My initial thought was that bullets were going of, but was somehow able to convince my wife that we might be wrong.\n3. We could hear the TV from the adjacent room the whole night.\n4. Hot water took 20 min to start coming in the shower in the morning.\n5. In order to register these complaints, we went to the office to find absolutely no one there. The staff comes at about 7.30 AM but we had checked out before that.\n\nWe will never return to this motel.
I had to take a huge liscencing test in Glastonbury, not wanting to spend more than $* I chose the supposed 3 star Econolodge. It was awful, the first thing I asked was if there was 24 hour security, I had to change rooms 3 times, first because I didn't have any of the amenities I was told I'd be provided with , second time because the internet didn't work (after arguing with the 'manager who told me I was lying cause his direct connection was working), and in the third room I didn't have an alarm clock but didn't feel like talking with the arrogant, unhelpful, rude manager/secretary/only person at the hotel. Oh and I had to clean all of the rooms I was in, I literally asked the 'maid service' for supplies and went to work, dead bugs, ashes, and hair, that stuff grosses me out. The icing on the cake was that I couldn't sleep all night.
Saving money is not all ways the most important thing. This place had leaky toilets, it was dark and dingy, it smelled of smoke even though I asked for a no smoking room. I would not stay here no matter how much money I save.
I was worried when we arrived and they told us they had no hot water that night and tried to put us into a room with a smaller bed. However, they changed things immediately and the hot water was restored within the hour. It's an older motel with no frills, but is clean and very inexpensive and they do try to make things right for you. The free wireless isn't advertised -- make sure you ask for the login information!
this place was pretty nice..i came here for the concert at dodge theater and it was really convenient
I stayed here for my visit to Trinity College in hartford.. the hotel is a great value and offers free high speed internet.. its basically a great place for someone on a budget (like me!).. clean rooms, friendly staff, basic amenities for me and the best of all FREE HIGH SPEED Internet! kept me entertained and busy during my whole stay..
We were put in a room with a light that didn't work, plugged into an outlet that was hanging out of the wall. My daughter almost immediately said that she was having difficulty breathing (she has asthma), and found mold in the bathroom. After some sleepless hours, I contacted the front desk, and they arranged a room change. The second room was much better - cleaner, better kept up, and my daughter noticed the air quality difference immediately. Everything was fine after that.
