The Hockman Manor House is located on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River, with views of the George Washington National Forest beyond. This lovely Italianate home was built in 1868 by Dr. Christian Hockman on the banks of the River near the friendly little town of Edinburg. The gardens and 2 acres of woods attract deer, foxes, rabbits, and many kinds of birds to the back yard. There are two decks for viewing the mountains and river and a front porch for enjoying the sunsets. All rooms have private bath, and comfortable queen-sized beds, except the Bird Cage, which has a double and a single. Luxurious linens, beautiful bedding, original artwork and lovely views enhance your stay in this historical home. Delicious, interesting breakfasts are prepared using locally butchered meats, eggs from free-range chickens, and locally grown produce, when available.
