The unique historic character was very interesting. Included breakfasts were terrific, as was the view from the porch. Overall value for $ -- excellent.
The TV was outdated. Wifi available only in the lobby.I would choose this hotel any day over a 'cookie-cutter' chain hotel. With a 100+-year-old building - there are plusses and minuses. Plus: yahoo -- we could open the windows in our room! Minus: there was a slightly musty smell in the lobby. I hope the family continues their efforts to keep this gem functional.
Location not too far from Fallingwater. Nice view from some room.
Hotel management told us that since they had moved their router, most rooms did not have wifi! Lobby wifi only for this hotel. Very old fashion everything : in need of renovations! Overall moldy smell and cleanliness not what it should be.Would absolutely not recommend!

First class resort with many options for activities. We enjoyed fine dining, spa, pool, walking the property and viewing the wild animals. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A perfect place to escape for a few days! The location in the Laurel Highlands is terrific. Easy accessibility to Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob, and the outdoor activities in Ohiopyle
Stayed at the Lodge. Room decor was very outdated. Bathroom had been updated a little bit was was just okay. Bed was below avg. Very large resort. Outdated though and a bit cheesy. Not as well maintained and clean as you'd expect for the price. Food at Tavern was just average and they sat us in what looked like a lobby next to the ice cream parlor. Terrible setting. Ended up going to Falling Rock to eat/hang out 2 out of 3 nights because it was much nicer than the Lodge/Chateau. The fancy French restaurant looked stuffy and outdated. Rooms at Falling Rock are much more pricey though. Mystic Rock golf course was very good and in great condition. Forcaddie was very good as well. They messed up my rate so I paid much less than rack rate, so not even sure what the normal cost is. Went to Omni Bedford Springs 2 years ago and it was MUCH nicer and better value. Won't be back.
