Needs a lot of work
Poor accommodations, including no phone in room, no desk or chair to work at, dark colors in room. Nothing like the pictures used to advertise the facility. Fire safety hazards such as one outlet have a three-way strip plugged in, and a power strip connected to that power strip that in turn powered the fridge, microwave, coffee pot and a light, really surprised the fire department hasn't fined them or shut them down. And the walls are paper thin, heard everything going on in the adjacent room, every single moan. Not sure if the L stands for "low budget" or just "love". Sure, the price was low, but it still was too much.
Booked a non-smoking room, walked in the room and discovered that i was given a smoking room. Went to the front and (Alex) apologized and was very accommodating! Hooked me up with a non-smoking room! ... Not the Hilton or any 5 diamond resort, but definitely better service and better building upkeep than the other 'budget' motels within 3/4 - 1 mile of this location (temporarily living/extended stays while relocating out of state, so I've been 'trying out' all the motels within walking distance to NAU/work)... The L motel and the Ho-Jo Inn a few blocks down have the best customer service and...
All the local 'budget' motels in the area require filling out the same 'generic' post card at check in (no business name, driver license into, etc.. all identical... Etc..... Very sketchy! Identity theft? Who's running a scheme?
I liked the low price, convenient location to restaurants and shops, friendly staff, free parking, clean rooms and working amenities (Wifi, heater, TV, clock). I stayed in a lot of inexpensive motels on my holiday road trip, and this was far and away the best one. It was also the least expensive.
They only had decaff coffee for the pot in the room. That probably isn't the norm, though.
Absolutely filthy. Noises, drunk college kids everywhere and drug deals going on in the parking lot.
We wanted something inexpensive and that's what we got. Everything was clean and there was a large tv. We would stay there again.
It was definitely an older motel. There was an old vent with chipping paint my toddler would not leave it alone. There was a carpet "base board" it was not attached to the wall completely near the vent and sharp staples were exposed. This wouldn't normally have bothered me but with a one year old we were constantly having to keep him out of trouble. The bathroom door didn't shut properly but as a family sharing a room it didn't cause an issue.
Shower had good pressure. i got a good nights rest and none of our belongings were stolen.
The door on the bathroom wouldn't close all the way. The bathroom vent on the ceiling wasn't screwed in so it was hanging making this loud drone when i'm use. The beds are of the box spring type.
We pulled into Flagstaff at 9:00 at night with no room to stay in. Everywhere else that we tried, had no vacancy. I found the L Motel online; reviews were good. We ended up paying WAY more than I normally would like for a room like this. But I suppose that's what happens when you book last minute and there are no vacancies elsewhere. I was pleasantly surprised with the room. The first thing I noticed was the cleanliness (most important) , the motel was quiet ( no one hanging out or drinking out side) and the beds were decent. If I ever find myself in Flagstaff again, I will definitely stay at the L Motel.
Very friendly young manager. Plenty of hot water. Generally clean. One comfortable bed.
Realize that my opinion is colored by paying $200/night for a room due to being Northern Arizona University graduation weekend. Considered it a $60/night kind of place. Old motel with some updates but don't expect anything "new". Temp in 30's and old heat did not work when we first arrived and room was in low 60's. Eventually did but took a while. Bathroom floor ice cold, thank goodness for the hot water. One bed had extreme sag, other was comfortable.
This is our second time here. The place is a clean and comfortable place with plenty of hot water for the shower. We will stay here again. Plus-no train noise during the night! Hooray!
Perfect for the price.
clean comfortable bed shower worked well
paper-thin walls brought the immediate neighbors, and all the traffic (and there's a lot of it), into the room freezer door (in the fridge) was broken no channel guide for the tv wi-fi was a very bad joke - so slow, I gave up waiting for any page to load
Very friendly and helpful staff. Safe and convenient location. Clean and comfortable room. Reasonable price.
Older facility in need of some repairs, such as peeling wallpaper and cracked tiles in the restroom.
nice size rm in the corner...more space than I needed but comfortable comfy bed and large bathroom with excellent hot water close parking
no heat. which in flagstaff is pretty essential for the fall and winter. I pulled the blankets off the other beds to stay warm and spent the morning in the bathroom after it warmed up with the shower.
The beds were very comfortable and I liked the quality of the sheets and blankets. They weren't those nasty polyester spreads but nice heavy cotton ones. The owner was very nice. He upgraded our rooms and brought us extra blankets. The value of the stay was excellent. There was even a microwave and fridge in the room. Breakfast included muffins, and bagels and coffee and juice which is a typical free breakfast (but still very much appreciated). We had 4 adults and 4 school aged children. It was a great stay for all of us.
Older motel but updated and comfortable.
Funky place out of the 50s and 60s on old Rt. 66. Needs some serious updating but you get what you pay for. The shower was hot and strong. Bedding clean and comfortable and large new TV. Great place to sleep for a night - walking distance to downtown restaurants. Funky place!
Location, price, furniture, TV, fridge were all good.
Cleanliness in rooms, very dusty. Some outlets did not function including the bathroom sink outlet. Some stuff was falling apart.
The manager was very accommodating , he gave us a larger room because of our 2 kiddos.
