The River's Edge Bed & Breakfast Inn was originally built as a private residence by E. Carroll Taber, a second- generation lumberman. The home was built in 1915, just two years after the completion of the great dam. There was a smaller house at this site, and the Taber family built their mansion over the foundation of that home built in the 1850's.
