Location near Veterans Administration

My alarm clock did not work so I was running late. The front desk manager was rude. I requested a later check out because I did not have chance to pack before my appointment. She said if I did not get back by 2:30pm she would charge me xxx.

Did not know the only bill I would get was the one from Priceline over the computer. The only complaint is very minor-the bed pillows were very small.

The indoor heated pool and the heated spa were well enjoyed. The room was nice and quiet. Breakfast selection was good. Parking was good. Proximity to UF excellent. Beds were good. Very satisfied with our stay.

Location Location Location... Very close to UF and Shand's Hospital, close to a Mall, and lot of restaurants in walking distance.

The housekeeping showed up pretty early like around 7a.m. and we asked her to come later, and later was like in 1 hr, she showed up again and we were like grrrrrr, and the front desk had no remorse when we told her, instead she started laughing.

That doesn't mean i won't go there again, we definitely will if i have to

Location and price.

Sheets and pillows were low quality and uncomfortable.

Room was acceptable for 12 hours of sleep while traveling. It rained so we did not use the pool. The pool did look nice. The room was ok but sheets are paper thin and would not stay on bed! Pillows same low quality.

The hotel is conveniently located near the interstate, restaurants, and shopping.

The hotel is in need of a major overhaul and are currently undergoing renovations. The carpet is dingy and smelly, the rooms lack microwaves and you have to use the public one in the lobby (eww!), and many of the rooms do not have a refrigerator.

Nice staff.

Hotel under renovation and noise was intolerably loud. Not just full distant banging but extremely loud banging and sawing and hammering. For most if the day.

Should not be utilizing room a Adjacent to construction zone. Intolerably loud.

Beautiful public spaces and delicious complimentary food and drink.

The landscaping could have been better. There was a lack of plants overall.

Very ecologically-minded. Signs abound encouraging guests to recycle their papers and plastics and reuse their towels and linens. Staff is extremely friendly, especially the bartender, who makes a killer Bloody Mary.

The rooms are large, bathrooms nicely updated, however, found quite a bit of "stuff" under the bed. Front desk staff is lovely , evening cocktail hour is a pleasant addition. Pool and hot tub are always a plus. On check in I requested and received a handicapped first floor room by the pool, makes it possible to spend some time with my daughters. We had to go over to Shands for cardiac testing for my 17 year old and it was great to be able to look forward to relaxing at the pool afterward.

The general manager, Tim, had scheduled parking lot renovation for the weekend we were there. When we returned to the hotel the majority of the parking lot was blocked off and we were unable to park near the entrance closest to our room. As the entire parking lot appeared to be blocked off I stopped my car at the main entrance and went to the desk to ask where I was supposed to park. When I was told that I would have to park on the far back side of the hotel, this would require a walk of more than 300 feet, I explained that I have heart failure, I need a new heart, and that I'm not able to do that. I asked why on check in I wasn't informed that I wouldn't be able to park close to an entrance by my handicapped room. At this point Tim came from the area behind the desk telling the desk clerk that he would handle this. he informed me that there were handicapped spots on all sides of the building, so surely I could find one to use. I attempted to explain that not all handicapped people are alike, so not all handicapped spots are alike, and what my physical limitations are, but Tim talked over me saying we can move your room. I explained again the purpose of asking to be by the pool was to be able to spend time with my daughters, and moving me to another wing made it impossible for me to spend time by the pool with them. I asked for a workable solution where I didn't have to pack up all of our stuff, move our room, and not be able to spend time with my daughters. Time then said he would have someone "hold" a handicapped space (again on the far side of the building) for me, I then pointed out that this was in fact illegal, and the situation currently made the hotel non compliant with the ADA. Tim frequently yelled at me during this exchange, pointed out that he was the GM so there was nothing that would be done. When I asked who the owner is he snapped "Wells Fargo bank" at this point I gave up on finding a workable solution as the chest pain had started, I went to my car, and drove to the far side of the hotel, maneuvering around the construction equipment, having one construction worker wave me through and another then drive a piece of equipment almost into me. I finally get in a spot, and we start the walk to our room. (Had I known about the construction I would have brought my wheelchair like I do when walking distances is required, the hospital loans them for visitors and I mistakenly assumed I wouldn't have a great distance to walk). Instead of being with my girls I went to bed. Since my diagnosis five years ago I take every chance I can to make memories with my daughters, and this trip could have been filled with fun memories for them, instead it was a stark reminder of what heart failure has taken from our family. Tim could have found a way to make the situation work with my physical limitations, instead he wanted to show me that he was the boss, and he made all the rules.

I like the courteous staff especially the desk attendant at the desk in the evening, he exhibited great customer service and was very friendly. The bed was comfortable as well.

The bathroom in side our room smelled like that a a gas station. It emitted an odor even after cleaned.

The night clerk, Tiffany was awesome!

The roach in the bathroom, the frayed furniture, bad plumbing in the bathroom, lack of value for money paid and the lack of customer service.

There are so many other hotels in this area, you should choose a different one. The hotel has some good employees, but it cannot make up for the lack of cleanliness and improper working plumbing.

I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and new this hotel feels. The room was so pleasant, I took a video of it so I could keep in order to later purchase a small studio like it.

I would have liked it to be closer to UF Campus, but this is a great hotel.

The room layout was much more spacious than other hotels we've stayed in recently in the same room rate ($) category. The complimentary breakfast was also better than average. In the future we will look for opportunities to stay with Residence Inn.

No

Our stay at the Gainesville, FL Residence Inn was a very pleasant experience. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the full kitchen was put to good use, the free internet service served our 15 year old son very nicely, the staff was quite gracious and we had all in all a very enjoyable stay. During the same trip we stayed with other unnamed high end hotel chains that do not offer anything near that same accommodations/services. In my opinion Residence Inn demonstrated their culture for customer care to be clearly superior to their competition.

Prices are either the average per night price per room or first night of stay. You can select to display the prices with or without our estimate of taxes & fees (which may not appear on provider's booking page but will be charged at hotel checkout). Before you complete your reservation, verify the total cost on the provider's site. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.
