This beautifully romantic villa overlooking Seneca Lake was built between 1910 and 1914 as a faithful replica of the Italian Villa Lancellotti in Frascati. The Italian marble fireplaces and wood-coffered ceilings are just a few of the features that have been lovingly maintained throughout this time, and carefully incorporated into the elegant hotel that it is today. There is a romantic ambience throughout, with each suite having its own unique dcor, some with original fireplaces, each with a ready kitchen and ten having two bedrooms. The setting itself makes this an ideal venue for a wedding or conference, and the restaurant is renowned featuring 69 local Finger Lakes wines and farm fresh produce in season. The Colonnade Pavilion is ideal for al fresco dining in the summer months, while the splendid Lancellotti Dining Room is delightfully romantic, with live music from piano, harp, vocalist or string ensemble. This is fine antiques area, but guests can also fish from the hotel dock, go on a canoeing trip or ice-skate and ski in the winter months. Guests may enjoy scenic drives through the picturesque countryside and visit Geneva's historic district and Seneca Lake's wine trail. Niagara Falls could make a wonderful day trip.
Staff and grounds are amazing, as was the food quality and service. Can't say enough about the staff - just top-notch. And the hsitory behind the hotel is cool. Rooms are a little dated but that was part of the charm. Will definitely go back.
While the rooms are nicely decorated, the hotel is very dated. The carpet in the hallways are dirty and need to be replaced. Kitchen floor can use some updating. Dents in the public doors show stress. Feels old and needs of an update. Wait staff was nice
Only there for one night. The front desk wanted to make us pay more. There was a big discussion about my reservations. Then I showed them my documents and we were shown our rooms. The next morning the same issue came up again about the reservations.
The place is absolutely beautiful and situated on lake Seneca. We were there in the fall and the colors around the lake made a stunning view from our window. The staff couldn't be more accommodating from the bellman to the manager. Five star all the way!
The staff is outstanding. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. They were also down to earth and treated us like family friend rather than just a guest.
Carpets in the hallway were a little dated. Parking is a little tight.
The grounds and their placement on the lake.
The room was small, so two people were a tight squeeze.
