The Green River is the largest of all of Utah's rivers, and has had a big impact on the state in historical significance, recreation and tourism and development. Beginning at Flaming Gorge in Utah's northeast and winding down through the desert to meet up with the Colorado River in the Canyonlands National Park, the Green River is a lifeline to many cities and towns along its route. Rafting, fishing and attractions within a day's drive of the river make this stretch one of Utah's hot spots for activity.
