The landscaping was nice. Breakfast was decent.
I don't know why ratings for this hotel are so high. It was very basic. Plain and uncomfortable furniture, hard mattress, small TV, institutional bathroom without any vanity space, only a hand held shower, noisy staff above woke me, no coffee in lobby.
Dated roomA/C unit was moldy
Everything. Courteous staff. Immaculate!
Very clean, friendly staff, and great breakfast.
Room was small, but everything was comfortable, so really, no complaints.
Nice comfortable room at a good price.
Distance out of our way but that was our choice.
The breakfast was wonderful, the staff was very pleasant, and the room was very spacious.
Very close to skiing, but at a fraction of the cost!
Not many eating establishments nearby.
This hotel was perfect for my needs as far as location and price.
The only issue I had was the TV. I would have liked for it to have more channel selections.
This hotel was very clean! The beds were very comfortable. It was probably the nicest 2 star hotel I've stayed in. Staff was very nice, the breakfast in the morning was good. Bathrooms were very clean!
This hotel was clean, attractive, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
For the price its the best,I highly recommend Microtel's
Location is slightly remote
The public area was very attractive, reflective of the rural environment in which the motel is situated.
The WiFi Internet service did not seem stable. Despite a strong WiFi signal, the Internet speed was less than stellar, and it was very easy to become disconnected requiring one to log back on to the system repeatedly throughout the stay at the motel.
Staff helpful, friendly. Like microwave and fridge in room.
Internet problems. Need more seating for breakfast. Only one chair in room.
The breakfast was pretty good.
With all other Priceline reservations I have received a room with 2 beds. Micritel wanted to charge me another $45 per night for a room with 2 beds.
room had a bad oder
Hotel was located a distance from the exit ramp in secluded area.
The rooms were clean.
The location was in the middle of nowhere and there was nothing around to eat.
Microhotels are not plush, but they provide efficient rooms with all the necessities. The staff at this one is always pleasant and service has been overall, very good. The one time that I had a small problem with maid service they seemed earnestly apolgetic and made it right.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights. It was the nearest hotel to a wedding we were attending. On the second morning, I went shopping and my husband worked in the lobby so our room could be made up. We went to get ready for the wedding at 11:30 a.m. and housekeeping had not been in the room yet. We returned from the wedding at 8:30 p.m. to find our room still not made up. My husband went to the desk and they did offer him fresh towels. That night the hotel was fairly noisy. At checkout we mentioned that the room had not been made up the previous day. The young lady at the desk printed out our bill and the young man said let me do something for that. He gave us a 10% off our next stay at that hotel. We have no reason to return to WV. After contacting Microtel, I get an email from the manager of the hotel that says sorry hope you enjoy your coupon! By the way, this hotel is directly across the road from a federal prison.
We stayed here overnight in September 2008 on a trip to check out Deep Creek Lake, MD on a romatic weekend. This hotel was newly built and was fabulous as far as cleanliness, free internet in the lobby. The main drawback here is that there is NOTHING around for miles. The Big Bear Lake Camp Ground is in the vicinity and may have had some eateries but there was nothing along the interstate except a convenience store. This is also next to the Federal Prison, which is (I believe) why the hotel is in that area. The complimentary breakfast was good. Staff were all helpful anf friendly.
We just made a quick trip to Morgantown to drop my son off at college. Waited till the last minute to book a room and was worried about what we'd end up with. Was very plesantly surprised at the quality of the hotel and service. The rooms were very nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Left all son's stuff in the truck overnight and didn't have to worry that it would dissappear, no one bothered with it. Just wish it was a bit closer to Morgantown but actually it didn't take us too long to get to the campus from the hotel. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if necessary.
When we heard this hotel was directly across the road from the US State Pen we were just a bit anxious, but the prison is actually several miles away in the middle of several hundred acres. The hotel was very new and in great condition. The hotel is very easily accessed from Route 68 (you can actually see it from the highway as you are driving into West Virginia from Maryland.) A pool would have been a nice extra, but we actually weren't too disappointed. Morgantown in just a short drive west on Route 68, and the Maryland state line is even closer when you head back east. The continental breakfast was really quite good considering they have a very small area for the set-up. The staff was always helpful when things were needed (more cups for coffee/juice, a plastic knife in the evening to cut up our toddler's apple for her snack, etc.) I would certainly recommend this hotel if you're in the area. We were there for my Uncle and Aunt's 50th Wedding Anniversary in Friendsville, MD. We hope they decide to put in a pool in the future!
I stayed there a few days for business and it was great. The rooms were super clean and the staff was great!
