We enjoyed our stay very much at this hotel. The restaurant had a great menu and lovely seating area overlooking the beach. The staff were always pleasant and accomodating. The location was excellent as it was on the boardwalk and just a short walk from several restaurants and shops. The pool was warm and we enjoyed swimming in it with our 1 year old. One small gripe was that the air conditioner made a relatively loud noise when it kicked on and off but that was minor. I would definitely come back and stay again.
Had cock roaches in our room. Was asked if we had left the balcony door open the first time we reported it and the second time as well. We never opened that door. Heating system was not consistent. Clear glass bathroom door was uncomfortable to deal with. The internet was inconsistent. The cleaning staff did not even clean our room one day. We called housekeeping to report it and had to ask for clean towels. Had to ask the conceirge to print paperwork for us 3 times as their printer was not working. For the price we were very disappointed with this hotel.
I have gone this hotel for four years in a row now, but I noticed certain thing this last time that I did not like. The breakfast buffet changed a little not as fresh , too many chairs by the pool, the shower stalls need to have some type of bench or seat for the ladies. The room did not look clean to me esp. the sheets. The wall paper in the bathroom needs to be changed. There needs to be a game room so at least kids can be occupied esp. when it rains.
Run down hotel with high prices. Asked for a refrigerator upon checking in and was told they had limited supplies so would put me on a list to get one. (Never got one). Pool closed the day we checked in. Cable out the first night we were there. Wall paper peeling off wall in bathroom. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Anytime anyone showers it steams up the whole room. No water pressure in shower. Huge dresser but only 3 usable drawers. The other part is for refrigerator you never get. Very small balcony that barely accomodates two people. Asked maid for clean towels and was told she didn't have any but would send some to our room. (Never happened) . Had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Food was ok and overpriced and waiter was very unfriendly. Obvious he did not want to be there. Make sure to take a sheet to hang over bathroom door if you have children. (Its glass). The only good thing about this hotel is that it sits right on the broadwalk and beach.. The beach is beautiful. We will be going back but won't be staying at the Marriott. There are alot of smaller places along the beach that are much nicer, friendlier and cheaper.
MY WIFE AND I LOVE THIS HOTEL/BEACH, WE VISIT AT LEAST 2 TIMES A YEAR. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO RELAX ON THE BEACH AND DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!! WE USUALLY RENT A CABANA, $26 ALL DAY, AND JUST CHILL ON THE BEACH SOAKING UP THE SUN. YOU CAN LEAVE ALL YOUR BELONGINGS TO GRAB A BITE TO EAT AT LATITUDES BAR/GRILL. THE BEACH IS VERY CLEAN AND THE WATER IS FABULOUS! AT NIGHT WE WILL CATCH A CAB TO MIAMI TO PARTY ($20-25 CAB RIDE), OR TAKE AN EVENING STROLL ON THE BOARDWALK TO GRAB A BITE AT ON OF THE MANY EATERIES THEY HAVE.
good time, good location, beautiful beaches, lots of food choices
Very well located in hollywood beach, FL. Parking and breakfast included in the daily rate. Design and decoration is a little bit outfashion, room is ok not so big, breakfast everyday the same but is also ok, Beach is right in front which is very convenient and driving distance to shopping malls is very convenient (20 mins from aventura and sawgrass)
The Marriott on Hollywood Beach was a beautiful hotel with great views and a perfect location. The drawback was the beds - There were four of us (2 adults, 2 teenage kids) and the beds were tiny, uncomfortable and extremely low to the ground. The pillows were less than comfy too. Other than that, the hotel was wonderful -
Very nice hotel on the beach, very clean and staff was friendly...i like the thing they let us check in way earlier then they are suppose to and they let us check out later with no charge.
Staff was great especially the pool guys. Room was OK but kind of small. Be sure to ask for a fridge since rooms do not have them.
I love the location and it is a nice hotel but every time I requested anything from a wake-up;call to having them take away my breakfast tray to bringing utlery with breakfast, it never happened. But they did make up for it when i complained and gave me free breakfast. And there was one time when i came back too late for room service and the chef on duty went out of his way to make dinner. So they made up for all the goofs; would defintiley go back.
I make a trip south with friends very year and this was the second year in a row that we stayed at the Marriott. As with our first trip, the hotel and the staff were outstanding. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The service was top notch. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
My husband had to go to a business meeting early in am, there was no water pressure AT ALL. He was unable to shower and prepare himself to look his best. This was the reason for our trip! I'm sure it was just a fluke, but it ruined my husband's stay. On check out when I inquired, I was offered no excuse or apology. The room was nice, but not worth the four star rating. I was disappointed.
I'm Here Now. Hotel is nice enough, and would consider staying again, however there are a few areas that need attengion. 1. the north east cost attitude (ny) of the concerage, it feels like he's looking for a cut of anything he arranges for you. 2. Cleaning! would it kill them to clean the tiki lounge & out door resturant floor every day? or at least ever week? most nice places I've been to hose and scrub such area's nightly. 3. elevators look dirty and in disrepare, with loose panels, and serious wear. some buttons are even miss-labeled. Of other interest, taxi's here are quite expensive, and public transportation lacking. there is a trolly that runs to 'downtown' hollywood, for what is worth. would be nice to have a buss/trolly running the lenght of the A1A (soutjh beach to Ft. Lauderdale) but there must be local politics involved regarding the tourist money, not the tourist. Room was clean, but again with maintenance issues, We could not get the heat to work and it's been cold at night. and windows could be cleaned more often. Bed was confortable. We booked a room for 3 adults, but found they had only king rooms or two full size beds, NO ROLLAWAYS!, we were offered a room upgrade ($100/night) to a room with a Sofa (NY Attitude?) Pool is much smaller than photos, but is very warm. Most of staff are very helpfull, other than the questionable motives of concerage. (sp/) Oh: had personal electronics stolen from my table when I stepped away, watch your stuff, a lot of 'low lifes' around.
After looking at several areas in Southern Florida, we decided to stay in Hollywood Beach. This was a great location, right between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. We were looking for a hotel that was right on the ocean and had plenty of actiivties including restaurants and shopping. The Marriott Hollywood Beach is located right on the broadwalk so you are able to walk to these activities. When we arrived at the hotel, we checked in and the front desk person put us in a room that was right next to the elevator. We asked to be moved to a different room and they accomodated us by putting us in a room with two double beds and then moved us to a king like we had requested the next morning. The hotel staff moved us while we were gone touring the area. It was quite nice not having to wait around for our new room. We had reservations for 5 nights and on the morning of the 4th day we received a bill under our door. We immediately called down to the front desk and informed them that we were to check out the next day. When we checked in we were told that we were reserved for 5 nights but when the room move was completed they changed our departure date having us only stay for 4 nights. When I called down I was informed that they were full that night. I then asked to speak with the manager on duty. She was able to change our departure so that it was correct. On the night before we were to check out, the hotel was full of high school seniors that were very loud and obnoxious. I informed the front desk twice about this. I told them that the kids were in the elevators and running up and down the hallways. One of the front desk staff was sent up immediately. Once she got to our floor there were no kids to be seen. My question to the front desk staff was where were all of the chaperones while the kids were running around and talking loud? At about 5 am on our departure day, we heard dresser drawers being slammed shut and the shower doors rolling back and forth. I was told that the high s...
