the apartment for 4 people had a sofa-bed (and a room with 2 beds) instead of 4 beds. we did not like having to share the sofa bed but we wanted a single bed for each one.
We enjoyed the comfort of the room and particularly the fact that one could cater independently and cheaply, with the additional choice of local hotels. We also enjoyed the steam room and sauna.
We didn't like the steep hill going up to the hotel - neither did we like the route we had to walk (close to fast traffic) along a very thin pavement into Honfleur. Probably would have been safer to take the car.
Excellent for value, very new clean and has excellent in room facilities. Excellent location. 8.5/10

As you enter the hotel you are greeted by a beautiful aroma from the spa. The room was bright, very clean and comfortable and the kitchen area was well equipped.
The only downside was that there is no pathway leading from La Closerie down towards the town. Other than that, we cannot fault our stay at this hotel.
The hotel is cosy and people are friendly. It's not in the center of the village, but quite easy to get there.
the shower was in a corner without nothing to protect form splashing water.It was prepared for disable people, but for capable was very unconfortable. The bathroom was a swimming pool after a shower!! and nobody cleaned the room. The rooms are little appartments but at least, the could have cleaned the bath, not just changing the towels.
The hotel staff was very friendly and the rooms were very neat.
Due to an issue with the translation of the side, I was know at the hotel only via my first name, which made it very difficult to get signed in as they did not find back my reservation. The hotel is situated on the outside of the city, but there is not an easy and "save" way to go to the city by foot.
Check-in time was 1600-2000. We arrived at 1915. Reception was closed. Not a single soul to be found in the hotel!! Couldn't check-in. Called their Emergency Numbers which the hotel posted at the entrance, but only voice mail, left message, but no return call. Waited for half an hour. Was about to go when an American couple arrived who told us that they got there at 1700 but the reception was already closed. They spent two hours asking around and eventually got a hotel which helped to call another La Closerie who then managed to somehow find that our keys are locked in a safe hidden away. The also found out the code to open the safe, then we got our key. The next morning we asked Reception, to which the reply was: "Ah, we closed exceptionally early yesterday. Sorry!!". Couldn't even imagine how a Hotel can possibly operate that way with ALL staff leaving early leaving their paid guests totally stranded and not able to checkin at all!! I have travelled all these years and this is the first time I ever encountered such irresponsible hotel. The hotel must also had been recently renovated for it was full of stinky renovation smells which makes one feel very uncomfortable.
The hotel is brand new. Therefore, it is in excellent condition. The spa/swimming pool area was large and well done. The value for the large room and kitchen was quite good. The service was friendly and helpful.
The hotel was about 500 - 750 meters outside of the historic part of Honfleur. Access to the historic town was via a busy road with no sidewalks or bike lanes. Therefore, access to town was not as easy as expected. Additionally, although the current facilities are new and clean, the materials used in construction (doors, fixtures, elevator) are not of high quality.
