This newly renovated hotel is located in the very heart of the beautiful and romantic old town of Kuldiga. Kuldigas Metropole has been a hotel and restaurant since 1910. There is a garden terrace open during the summer season. The cosy rooms have a view of a pedestrian street or the river. The town’s attractions are only a few steps away from the Kuldigas Metropole. These include Ventas Rumba, the widest waterfall in Europe, the longest brick bridge in Europe, the narrow streets in the old town, and the pretty historic houses with their red-tile roofs.
I really enjoed visit Latvia and particular Kuldiga.
I would prefer tea/coffee facilities in the room (it is really additional suggestion)
Primary benefit is excellent location of the hotel. I hardly find anything else worth of mentioning. Because the level of the comfort essentially corresponded to what one could have expected.
Yes, there was. The breakfast content and presentation was next to poor. The interior design of the restaurant is tasteless, obviously, coming straight from the old Soviet times. In the evening, dinner time, if there is a group of dozen people arriving to the restaurant, staff fails to pay attention to every table (it was Friday night, so perhaps, thats not a case during weekdays). The noisy bar on the other block (I have to stress, that this is not part of the hotel) leaves no chance to open the windows in one's room because of the laud music lasting until 3-4 a.m.
The charm of this old hotel, rather well modernized, in the unique town of Kuldiga
Hotel is on the right location. Interior in the hotel is excellent after renovation. Guest is a king with all human respect. The best memories in summer 2010 trip through East Europe.
The location in old town
The breakfast is limited
The hotel has been rebuilt tastefully following a fire, in keeping with the village atmosphere, yet the facilities are modern and very comfortable. The staff are friendly, quick to respond to requests and speak English. The food was delicious, well presented and would appeal to local as well as international tastes. We can't wait to come back to Kuldiga.
Superb game dishes in restaurant!
Price bit too high for a countryside hotel despite it is modern and high quality rebuilding is done. Surprisingly poor breakfast - no porridge, scrambled eggs or something warm except boiled eggs. No juice or water on the breakfast table - you have to ask for it...
Like staff and room, food in restaurant was good
