The room was very nice. The staff extremely courteous and professional. The location and view were ideal.
I did not like the bed in the room. It hurt both of our backs trying to sleep on it. It was uncomfortable.
Cusp the restaurant..
Room service was horrible. Rooms were pricey but out dated.
Updated decor and furnishings.
I liked the ambiance, location.
Hotel seemed to lack security. My hotel room door was cracked open when I checked in. As a female traveling alone, that's not safe. Especially when the hotel room doors face the outside, and not have a sense of security with interior hotel door rooms.
Nice interior including room and lobby
Very expensive Valet Parking, would prefer to self park, as there was plenty of roon
Great location, modern rooms, nice wading pool, great happy hours with free wine and beer that my wife loved. Excellent shuttle service within 2 miles of hotel (and there is a lot within 2 miles due to location). Exceptional staff.
Design of the shower, while modern, lacked a bit on being water tight. That lead to using towels to soak up water in the bathroom after most showers. Not a huge deal, but a bit of a mess.
Free happy hour drinks and free shuttle service. Valets had great recommendations for places to eat in La Jolla village.
Hotel is definitely more geared to couples rather than families. The leopard print bathrobes and intimacy kit in the mini bar communicated that. Kids enjoyed the pool at least.
Beds were to low. Pool was only 3'.
Very nice to look at and public spaces were well designed and interesting. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The Internet was not free. There was no menu for in room dining, and when we called to try to order food for brunch it went to voicemail.
The outside of the building makes the hotel look older and more run down than it is. Also, the door to your room is from the outside like a motel typically is.
Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Loved the outside fireplaces and smores at night. Bikes were a plus.
Gnats in the bathroom.
Good location, near La Jolla Shores. Nice lobby area and good general appearance.
Only on property parking is $30 a night valet . All other parking is find your own on the side streets. All amenities are very expensive. $13 a night Wi-Fi and $7 bottles of in-room water. No in-room mini fridge to keep store-bought items cold.
The Staff and my room.
The food selection was very limited. The honey wings were awful, no flavor. Service at the bar on the 11th floor was poor. The restaurant was extremely loud; impossible to have a conversation.
The Hotel was close to where we needed to be. The room was nice but not what I expected for 4 star.
Parking was expensive ($30 a day). The internet was $13 for basic. No impressed at all.
$30 mandatory valet parking. Not well maintained after the renovation, maybe, 10 years ago.
Small entrance drive way. Bed uncomfortable. Elevator scary at night. Drink dispenser broken at breakfast.
Staff was very friendly the hotel itself is very nice.
At 7:00am they hand very loud landscapers tree trimming that woke everyone in the hotel and went for hours. To me that can only be considered as poor management it was truly unacceptable.
Location, view from rooms, rooms were very nicely appointed with good mattress and pillows
There isn't any adult supervision. All of the personnel are very young and obviously inexperienced. Pool was closed one day for a special event and no warning or anything posted. Woman telling us to 'pack it up' was very rude.
I love the location of the hotel. I also like that the hotel had a restaurant on site as well as a huge patio/bar on the lobby level.
I did not like that i wasn't able to have a ocean view room which was at the 6th floor level and above. My room was on the 4th floor.
the staff and the dog friendly environment.
Very noisy high traffic location. High ($28/day) parking charge. Really weird lobby furnishings.
