Clean room. Nice open feeling. Liked the historic feel to the hotel.
Mattress was terrible and eliminated a 4 star rating.
Very nice feel of old and new combined. The hotel building is a gorgeous piece of history. It's remodeled to perfection.
The neighborhood is not the best although we were able to walk safely from the hotel to downtown Lancaster. I wouldn't do the walk a second time. Hotel is located just a short drive to many amenities. I would stay here again.
The overall design, comfortable beds, free breakfast, friendly staff
Knowing where you were allowed to park, finding the main lobby - we drove passed the entire hotel a few times
The old building has been put to a fabulous new use. The old beams, woodwork and bricks are very interesting. The toiletries and lines are great quality.
We could hear our neighbors in the middle of the night. A man checking in at the same time as us asked for a government rate, that was $40 less then we paid. How much subsidizing do we have to do?
The charm and atmosphere of this hotel were present from the point we first set eyes on it. The restored factory look pairs rustic/historical elements with a chic sense of modern decor. The rooms were spacious enough, but still felt cozy. Continental breakfast was great- featuring goods from the on-premesis bakery. The Cap and Cork Restaurant / bar was also a nice stop, on par with many of the major dining locations in the city. My fiance and I actually spent some time just walking though the hotel, checking out the old parts of the building, and getting a sneak peak at the ballroom / reception area (gorgeous!). We've already planned to go again!
The only minor complaint was locating the hotel. It is not far from a major road, but the hotel building is part of what used to be a large factory complex. The rest of the complex was turned into offices/shops, and the hotel sits back behind them. There are also 2 entrances, one of which takes you around the back of the building, which may be confusing your first time.
Delightful bed Coffeemaker Toiletries
Inconvenient outlets in room--and a lamp without a switch that only worked off the wall switch. Paper and plastic cups = downmarket
