The location of the Flamingo on the Vegas strip is excellent. It is in the center of the strip and close to almost everything.
Location is the Flamingo's only redeeming quality. We were celebrating my husband's 55th birthday. This was our first stay at the Flamingo. I accepted an email offer to upgrade our room for an additional charge. I received several text and email communications from "The Flamingo" solidifying all of the details (I had requested bottled water, soda, and extra pillows, and told them it was my hubby's birthday). I received an email from "the Flamingo staff" stating that we were confirmed for an "upgraded Luxury room with a strip view" and they had received my requests, so I was looking forward to a great time. On arrival I was told not only that no strip view rooms were available, but no "upgraded rooms" were available either. We asked to speak to a manager, and she told us "sorry but this is all that was available. I showed her the print-out that said we were booked for a "Strip view room". She then went in the back and returned saying that she had found a room for us. When we entered our room I was HORRIFIED. The pungent odor of urine and mildew was overwhelming and actually made me nauseous. Of course there were none of the items I had requested. The carpet was filthy and there were black marks all over the walls. The TV was a 15" flat panel on top of an old chest of drawers. The TV remote was broken. The bathroom was tiny (really tiny). The floors were filthy and the fan had been ripped out with only wires hanging from the ceiling. The tub and sink were dirty. The lock on the safe was broken. I have stayed in $40/night Motel-6 rooms that were far superior. I have never seen anything like this in my life. I was so repulsed by the room that I told my husband I didn't care what it cost, I wasn't sleeping here. So my husband went down to the front desk and advised them we were leaving. Then another manager came out and said that he had an "upgraded room" that we could have and he would waive the upgrade charge, but it was on the "Pet Floor". By this time it was so late (and since we were only booked for 2 nights) we decided to give it a try. The new room was at least clean and didn't smell of urine. The only thing this room had the other room did not was that it was clean, it had a larger TV (probably 32") and a small empty mini-fridge. I don't know how they consider this an "Upgraded room". Rather than waste more time finding a room at another hotel, we decided to stay and make the best of the situation. We will NEVER stay at the Flamingo again. I am also considering notifying the health department because I can't believe that they were renting that first room out to ANYONE. It was utterly atrocious.
good location - good price
its an old hotel - not luxurious
Love that it was centrally located.
The room was very well done. Amazing view of the high roller and the habitat. Definitely going to be staying here again. Great spot on the strip. Great price. Worth it.
Air conditioning didn't work and the blankets to tine overall it was ok
Location on the Las Vegas Strip and great staff.
There's nothing not to like.
Location is great, free parking is great.
The whole property seems tired, like it needs a good make over. The room was large but very basic, no coffee maker, no carpet on the floor, no fridge. The bathroom shower stuck on. I haven't been in a room this bare since County Jail.
Not much to like! No diner anymore. Rooms not well stocked. Not worth the $535 we paid New Years Eve. Didn't gamble there due to high limit tables & poor casino layout.
Too noisy all night Mandatory resort fee No coffee machine Worn out towels
The location on the strip is prime, and the front desk staff were excellent. Very polite, very professional. 5 star performance for them. Water pressure in the shower was phenomenal.
The room was filthy. Faux wood floors adorned this extremely small room, and i could see many different colored stains on the floor. Being Vegas, i was somewhat terrified of what they were. Every time the air conditioning wold turn on, there would be a loud slamming noise coming from the vent that seemed to apex in noise directly over the shower. The bed had dirt on the comforter, and had long hair throughout the whole bed. The ice bucket was also dirty on the inside, and they did not include a bag to create a barrier between the ice and the bucket. No signs directing guests to the ice machine, at least on the fourth floor. Described as "most recently renovated" when i called to inquire on a room, i was highly displeased at the whole appearance of the hotel.
Great location on the strip and has a great breakfast buffet and pool area!
The only thing I didn't like is that you are limited on your wifi usage even though you pay a resort fee that is supposed to cover the cost of wifi.
Nice view and clean
The bathrooms were not great.
On the strip. Many shops within hotel.
Very nicely located, easy to go around, relatively cheap
Massive check in lines. I guess it takes around an hour. i got a good discount for the room, and it felt just like it, discounted room. Limited tv channels, some power plugs not so well attached to the wall, soap and stuff in scarce quantities... It did feel a bit dated compared to the other ones of the strip.
This is all I need to say.
I really enjoyed the Mexican Out Door Bar, the Pool(fantastic) and the room was great. The cleaning gals were terrific also. I would highly recommend it to every one.
What I didn't like was the long line for check in
The lights in our room did not work... There was a huge disgusting red stain on the conforter.. Seemed like liquid candy. They definitely don't wash the sheets
Very good price for the room and facilities
Glitz and lights
Location is good if you want to stay right on the strip. Nothing else good about it.
We stayed in two rooms as a family. They didn't even put us near each other and said the best they could do was put us far away on the same floor. We had no cups for water, there is no coffee in room, and ice machine was broken on our floor. Pool closes very early. We have stayed in old hotels before that were well-kept but this one is definitely not maintained. The room was dark and filthy and carpets were old, dirty, and not even tightly stretched. We got married there 25 years ago and thought it would be nice to go back. It looked nothing like it did on the inside of the rooms. We were extremely disappointed. NEVER AGAIN.
Garages too far and not connected I stayed in the old wing and my room was way too far from the elevators. I was surprised how bad the old wing looked - the halls, the elevator and the rooms... Like motel 6 on the strip. My friends however stayed in updated rooms and they looked really good. Just make sure you get one of those...

The budget rooms are in bad shape.
Room was nice and clean. Pool was fun and DJ was good.
Pool closes to early!!!
Nice pool, good location
Casinos smelled very strongly of tobacco smoke. Resort fees for things that should have been included with room cost. 18th floor, where my room was , was pretty shabby, torn , stained carpets, missing floor trim, missing ice-machine. Elevators in rough shape. I would be embarrassed to bring friends or family there.
Didn't care for any of the changes
Pools are crowded and dirty The former adult pool is now the family pool. The deck area is packed. The staff never collect towels left behind to open spaces for new arrivals. The former family pool is now a loud crowded adult pool that does not lean toward the former relaxing area it once was. It's about blasting music, drunks and outrageous prices for day beds and cabana's. Won't be back!
It was dirty. Not clean, old style rooms and furniture. Long walk to the room. Even Casino looks very old.
Strip view rooms towards Bellagio are not insulted from noise from Drais.
We stayed at Ceasers Palace the night before, for less money and a MUCH better room. I paid $20 for what Flamingo called an "upgrade" and it wasn't nearly as nice, clean or comfortable as Ceasers. I can't imagine what our "standard" room would have been. We were in 27169, and that seemed as standard as they come. I will never stay here again.
5 of 6 elevators for our tower were broken. Line ups waiting to get to the room were ridiculous. Staff could have cared less.
It was at the same place as my meeting which was important to me. There is one section where the food is reasonable priced. Free parking. Many things to do within the hotel.
Several escalators did not work and many of the elevators had problems with doors closing, buttons not working, not opening a certain floors, The room seemed very low budget as there as not even a coffee maker or a fridge. Bathroom was very mediocre. Floor was vinyl. No sheer drapes, just the one thick curtain. Lighting in room was poor. No extras in the room. I have had better at Best Western, Super 8 and Holiday Inn. Spa and workout area only open to 6 pm. Pool only until 4 pm. I was harassed every time I went to or from my room to attend a timeshare presentation. I came home with a rash. I expect more form a Las Vegas Casino Resort.
Location and grounds were great. Roomndesign and view were great
Sheets unclean and worn
Very old hotel, not clean, strong smell coming from the carpets, very loud noise coming from the pool, dance club and Linq hotel. When we asked to change our room they told me that all the rooms get noise. If I like to sleep at night then I should go to other hotel
All I liked about the Flamingo was the price of the rooms, the comfortable beds, and the restaurant choices. I know I like their pool too but it wasn't even open when I went.
I don't like the huge lineups to checkin, the carpeted floors and ramps that you have to drag your suitcase on (some of which aren't attached to the floor anymore so you trip), how terrifyingly old the elevators are, the bellhop I had was an a**hole, the gardens smelled bad, and the bathroom had mold and a puddle on the floor for some reason. It was also funny to me how they penny pinched by only giving you conditioning shampoo instead of shampoo and conditioner.
Loved the colors in the room. The Buffet was staff were very nice. The buffet was fair but it was not worth the ticket price. The animals in the habitat gardens were beautiful, it was just much smaller than the website has you believe and the water smelled quite nasty.
The "screen" effect on the window from the window advertising was very distracting and the streaks and dirt on the window didn't help the view. We found a dirty washcloth hanging over the shower curtain in the bathroom. Clearly over-loved by the staff. The bathroom sink was falling apart (dropping out of countertop. The water pressure and temperature was not adequate and the toilet wobbled. In their reno they clearly saved money on the bathrooms.
Location was great
Bathroom sink didn't drain, sheets were not clean, very disappointed with the quality of the room, the bed was creaky. Just not very good overall.
Loved the location! Everything was in walking distance.
Great location. Decent clean rooms
Recurring problem with room key card failing, and have to stand in line at front desk for 15-30minto get replacements. Happened twice in one days with 2 sets of keycards. Heard similar story from other guests.
Liked the location and the availability of food/drink near by. The two staff members who made GREAT impressions were the man at the hostess station at Tropical Breeze Cafe, he was wonderful, as well as the man who checked us out of our hotel. The rest was mediocre.
Did not like the bathrooms in the hotel needs to be upgraded. The hidden resort fee was bad. A lot of this hotel needs to be remodeled.
