Lawai is a nice small town next to famous "Sunny Poipu". There is grocery shopping in Koloa (also 5 minutes away) and a small country market that sells fruit and drinks nearby. Also, a really neat Niihau shell store is in Lawai where you can buy shell jewelry and other interesting Hawaiian crafts.
The Kauai Banyan Inn is owned by one family. It is a large estate in the town of Lawai. There is a long driveway with cows to the left of the property and lots of Hau trees with a variety of flowers. The beds are all pillow top and all the furnishings have been updated within the last 6 months to a year.
All suites come with fully equipped kitchens, private decks/lanais, full bath, linens, towels, banana bread, passion-orange juice, and condiments. This is 5 minutes from Poipu.
