Shakespeare may have claimed "what's in a name?" but for residents of Northern Ireland's Derry/Londonderry, it would seem the answer is "plenty". Site of the infamous Bloody Sunday's shootings and some of the worst tension during The Troubles, the city is ˜Derry" for the Catholics and ˜Londonderry" for the Protestant Unionists. Derry/Londonderry is a great place to get a handle on Ireland's history from ancient to the more modern conflicts. Battlescarred it may be, but with the Troubles finally in the past, Derry is reinventing itself as a vibrant, exciting tourist destination.
